Review Time
I was having trouble with my move and OSS stepped in and took over the shipment, & packing. when my things arrived in the US from Australia, everything was packed so well that nothing was broken. Furniture was completely wrapped! I did have communication problems with the US delivery agent and OSS handled that professionally as well. Any move is tough, I have shipped 3x and this move with OSS was the best. Easy to follow, lots of updates.
The team came to our house in Sydney and packed everything up for us. I can't fault them. It was quick, professional, and they took care of all our belongings. Everything then arrived in UK as expected. No problems. Communication with the OSS team was always excellent. I'd definitely use them again.
We were happy with the service OSS provided when relocating us from QLD Australia to the UK. Misha was helpful and provided guidance, the packers were friendly and worked hard (they did pack a couple of ‘not to be packed items’ but it wasn’t a show stopper to us).In the UK OSS were helpful, on time and extremely flexible to our delivery requirements. I honestly found them very good and would recommend them to others.
I just want to send you a quick note about how wonderful your staff have been so far.Misha came to Stradbroke to measure and quote for our move to Los Angeles.Misha was very professional and easy to communicate with in this very stressful time for us. She has made this part of the move as easy as possible for us. We certainly feel that we are in good safe hands.The two gentlemen that packed and collected our things were fantastic. I think their names were Josh and Emmanuel. The pack was efficiently and thoughtfully completed. Again we felt that our things were safe and well cared for. Josh and Emmanuel were very well mannered and easy to have in our home.
The worst service ever!!! They are still blaming COVID for not being able to let me know when I can collect my goods! It’s been nearly 2 weeks now and every four days they send an apology email for not booking in my collection date. All I want is to be able to collect my items. Disgraceful!
We were generally underwhelmed by our experience with OSS. 1. Cost: We had an in-home quote, after which we trimmed down to reduce volume, incl. children’s play kitchen and entire cupboard worth of linen as well as tools etc. Despite reduction efforts, the final cost and volume was exactly the same as our original quotation, despite their guarantee that they would only charge for final collected volume. We also felt little effort had been made by packers to minimise volume (examples incl. entire boxes for empty wooden cube shelves, massive TV box for 2 small heaters). 2. Time: 5.5 months door-to-door, more than two months in Melbourne waiting to be shipped. At one stage we were told it was due to leave at the beginning of May, and when we followed up after that date we were told it would be yet another 5 weeks before departure. They make no promises but should be more transparent with estimates. It took 24 weeks, double the 9-13 estimate. 3. Carelessness packing: Non-removable castor wheels were snapped off two heaters to fit them in (oversized) box. Dresses packed in the bottom of a clothing box with random photo frames, candles, wooden boxes thrown on top. Leather hand bags folded and squashed, picture frames misshapen, and books bent with spines warped, covers folded over. All only evident after arrival as of course we obviously didn’t supervise packing. A large frame individually packed also broke (these things are bound to happen) but it left us further out of pocket as not worth insurance claim. On the positive side, we found response and communication was always good and the kitchen items were really well packed - 0 breakages with a lot of small fragile items.
By the ETA the company had not even dispatched the goods. When changing to a different company due to their incompetence, they refunded less than 20% of the cost, despite never shipping the goods. Have had to pursue legal action to retrieve my funds.
I have a few complaints with this company.I moved from Gold Coast to Macao in August 2023My first complaint is if that sale woman Misha Hamilton had offer some advice about how the clothes were packed into the box, I would not be so angry. The clothes were not wrapped but just dumped into a box. I would have wrapped up my clothes in plastic first . That saved me a lot of cleaning at destination.2nd complaint…..I specifically asked the packers NOT to pack anything without a PACK sign but either the packer could not read or could care less because my old dirty clothes were packed together with the clean clothes. The dirty old thongs were packed unwrapped with my clean night clothes. These things did not have a PACK sign.The paintings were not separated with paper when boxed and 2 oil paintings were slightly damaged.I found this company has no considerations for the client requests especially at such a stressful as moving overseas.Some things that needed to be wrapped were not wrapped and a small single herb bag was wrapped with 2 pieces of paper. I know the company needed to sell paper but not in such ridiculous way.I would NOT recommend this company to my friends moving anywhere. The only saving grace was the receiving company…AMR. OSS were very efficient right from our first inquiry. Their shipment size assessment and quote were accurate; the timing of collection organized to suit our plans; the packing and materials used were of excellent quality (no damage); there were no problems with Customs/documentation/clearing agents in the USA and the shipment arrived early. The crew who delivered and unpacked the container in the US commented several times on the high standard of packing and quality of cartons, particularly those used for the antique furniture. Can highly recommend them
I engaged OSS in early 2022 to move my items from Sydney to Shanghai. It only reached Shanghai a year later! OSS's follow up is terribily wrong! My constant chasing them for update went to deaf years. I was constantly told the person in charge of my account is on leave and will revert back to me! But they never did. Meanwhile, my colleague also moved from Sydney to Shanghai in April 2022 and received all his stuff in August 2022! Its now June 2023 and my stuff is sitting in the warehouse of OSS's partner as OSShas instructed them not to release them as they have new charges for storage! OSS is holding me staff as hostage for more money! Plaese never use them! Gus
