I used Paperpal to help with an MSc Thesis, and it was really useful. I thought I had only paid for a month, but it auto-renewed, the team was so helpful and swiftly gave me a refund. I have to say, I was so impressed by how quickly they handled my enquiry and how sympathetic they were to my situation. I will definitely use Paperpal again and highly recommend it.

I have tasted it, and I hope in the future it will help to write faster scientific articles. Writing and checking Grammar with my "best friend" Paperpal is easy, fast and usefully.
After experimenting with various AI-assisted writing tools, I have found Paperpal to be the most impressive. Unlike other tools, Paperpal stands out by utilizing academic papers as the primary source for its large language model. This unique approach ensures that the suggestions provided by Paperpal align with the common terminology used in scientific papers, while avoiding the use of obscure or rarely used words, which is a prevalent issue with many other AI-assisted tools.Moreover, Paperpal's ability to suggest commonly used terms and phrases in scientific papers helps maintain consistency and clarity throughout the writing process. This feature is particularly beneficial for non-native English speakers or those who are new to academic writing, as it helps them adhere to the accepted conventions and norms of scientific writing.
A bit disappointed in this product, as it seems to get good reviews. Compared with Grammarly and other products, I found Paperpal slow with a clunky user interface. It misses some quite obvious mistakes, and frequently gets things wrong. So I'm going to have to say that it was not worth the money I paid for it, and I'll be going back to the free version of Grammarly.
I did not know what I expected from this program from the beginning. I read lots of reviews and those truthful and sincere reviews helped me decide to give it a go! Also, I felt I asked lots of silly questions, but the support team of Paperpal remained very helpful, and they assured me with trustful answers. I have used Paperpal for just over a month, but I feel well-supported. I absolutely adore the instantaneous feedback provided by Paperpal, particularly the brilliant Word add-in function! I feel I have a great pal with me for 24 hours and 365 days! Furthermore, it will be greatly helpful if the Paperpal team works on improving synonym functions. If there were wide range of synonyms with decent examples, it would be greatly helpful. I look forward to working with Paperpal every day. I appreciate Paperpal a lot. You guys are doing an absolutely fantastic job!
The webinar of Paperpal on the ethical use of generatice AI tools in academic writing promised to be an enlightening session on the responsible use of AI in academia. However, it fell short of expectations. Instead of a balanced and informative discussion, the webinar primarily served as a promotional platform for Paperpal. Disappointingly, there was a notable lack of depth in the ethical considerations of using AI tools in academic writing. Merely stating something is ethical does NOT make something ethical. Critical questions from the audience were noticeably removed or ignored, which raised concerns about the transparency and integrity of the session. This approach not only stifled meaningful dialogue but also contradicted the very essence of ethical discourse. The webinar, rather than being a guide to ethical usage, ironically exemplified unethical practices in marketing under the guise of educational content.This experience has significantly diminished my likelihood of using Paperpal. The webinar's overt commercial focus and disregard for genuine ethical dialogue have raised doubts about the tool's commitment to ethical standards in academic writing. The lack of balanced and open discussion not only made the webinar uninformative but also cast a shadow on the trustworthiness of the product it was intended to promote.It was a missed opportunity to explore a vital topic in today's AI-driven academic environment. It leaned more towards commercial promotion than providing real insights into the ethical use of generative AI tools in academic writing.During the webinar, the main concern among attendees was not the ethical implications of using AI tools like Paperpal in academic writing, but rather whether their use would be detected. This focus on avoiding detection over ethical considerations is concerning, especially in the academic realm. It suggests a troubling shift where the fear of being caught outweighs the importance of ethical integrity, indicating a worrying trend in the priorities of future researchers. Future discussions should pivot back to addressing these crucial ethical considerations, ensuring that academic integrity remains at the forefront of AI tool usage in research and writing.Update 09.01.2024: I had a meeting with Paperpal, and my concerns were addressed. A big part of the problem was a misperception of the content of the webinar due to how it was marketed. It was less intended as an ethical discussion of the use of AI in academic writing, but more as a webinar on how to use Paperpal and the roadblocks people encounter. Paperpal acknowledged that they should have marketed it differently and better addressed the concerns of attendees during the webinar.
