Review Time
We heard all the horror stories about trying to find a place to rent in Paris. Our experience, however, was quite different. We reached out to Daisy Garcia at Paris Attitude on the Web, fell in love with the first place we saw, submitted the paper work, and the deal was done. This in spite of the fact we were looking for a place several months in advance. Everyone's experience of course is different, but based on ours to date, we have nothing but good things to say about working with Daisy.
Be very cautious with Paris Attitude. Similar to what has happened to others, E1,300 of my security deposit was not returned. Paris Attitude will side with the landlord and do little to help tenants.My landlord kept about E1,300 of my deposit for many items which are not tenant responsibility (e.g. clean pigeon droppings outside of window, water damage caused by a broken washing machine and a leaky window, both of which the landlord was aware of and did nothing to fix for months). The lease-end inspection did not identify any of these items, yet E1,300 was withheld from my deposit. In addition, Paris Attitude did little to help address the broken washing machine which was out of service for 3 months.Paris Attitude could have easily mediated the dispute.Furthermore, Paris Attitude did not post my negative review of this unit on their website, again protecting the landlord. In fact this unit (on rue de la Huchette, in the 5th) is still listed on Paris Attitude with the following comment: “This apartment is new on Paris Attitude and has not been reviewed by our tenants yet. Be the first to do so by staying there !” This is factually incorrect as I was there for 9 months, and I provided a review.Avoid Paris Attitude if you can.
I highly recommend Paris Attitude if you are thinking of moving to Paris and need an apartment. Their website is easy to use and you can narrow your selection down. But the best part is the service. All you need to do is tell them your selection and they’ll check to see if it’s available. They’ll send you the lease to sign and tell you what you need to pay. All you have to do is Be able to read. It’s totally stress-free. And they speak English very well. I love them.
