SA Expeditions (Aseem Mahajan) did a great job from beginning to end putting together a first rate experience. The support before, during and after our trip was invaluable. Some of the highlights of the trip:
- Great itinerary to see abundant animals, nature, quality of guides
- Treasure of Galapagos-- outstanding food, accommodations, crew and naturalist
- Napo Lodge in the Amazon -- amazing remote location with incredible animals, great food and service, quality of the guides, visit to indigenous community
- All the various pickups were timely ensuring we made all our flights and connections
- Quality of day trips in and around Quito -- including city tour of Quito, the Equator Museum, Mindo Cloudforest, hummingbird sanctuary and chocolate factory
- Combining the Galapagos and Amazon in one trip did require a fair amount of travel to get to such remote places but well worth it.

Beautiful Costa Rica!Amazing trip - 3 parts of the country, gorgeous rainforest, white water rafting, hikes and beaches. Fantastic food. Amor Arenal is a must stay if you can swing it, and the Mistico Hanging Bridges park was an absolute highlight. Pacuare River Lodge amenities, staff and excursions were top notch if you want a more rustic but pampered environment! Costa Rica in the offseason was a great choice - no crowds. We did experience some rain most days late afternoon, but it really did not impact our plans very much.
I would highly recommend SA Expeditions - Mikey Blount helped me plan a Spain excursion in record time. He listened to my desires and planned accordingly. Everything ran smoothly - from the hotels to the guides to the drivers. At one point in our trip a train was going to be cancelled due to an impending strike and SA proactively got us on another train to our destination. Our local contacts were knowledgeable and easy to reach throughout the trip. I will definitely use SA in the future.
This is the second time that we travelled with SA Expeditions. This is a first rate agency that makes travel easy. They book first rate accommodations, arrange for friendly and knowledgeable guides, and arrange for transfers to and from the airport. Our guide in Quito was most helpful, especially in assisting us in negotiating the online forms required for travel to the Galapagos. He also shared some truly interesting travel sites during our tour. Our contact person, Melissa, was helpful and responsive during the planning stages of our trip. Due to her skills in coordinating nearly every aspect of our travel, everything went off without a hitch. In the Galapagos, our ship was luxurious, the staff friendly and professional, the itinerary interesting and engaging and our guides, superb! I would highly recommend traveling with SA Expeditions!
There were absolutely no flaws in our trip. It was even better than what we typically expect in travel; we anticipated having to handle items that were already handled by the in country team. Our most successful trip yet thanks to the diligence of the state side team coupled with in country partners. The Rwanda crew is very focused on making sure that the tourism gives back to the community by way of engaging the locals to be part of the experience and conservation, something I value in my travels and made the trip even that more memorable. I would highly recommend the trip and the 5 Volcanoes hotel was a must. The staff was so attentive to our needs and anticipated those we were not even aware we needed! (AKA foot massage after hiking). Thank you SA for yet another great trip.
We had a wonderful time during our trip in Brazil. From the ideal hotel location to the amazing guides and impeccable itinerary, we got to see and do everything we wanted to experience in Rio. And when an issue arose with our photographer, SA was quick to resolve it. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering SA. Great communication, great service 👍🏻
Highly recommend! The SA Team provided a once in a lifetime experience with exceptional attention to planning, excellent guides and lodgings, attention to details and all at a reasonable cost to a large group tour. Our trip was for my mother's 88th birthday and her bucket list locations in Ecuador and Peru. Some of the venues, eg hiking Machu Picchu, are obviously challenging for her age and despite good health. SA provided great guidance and execution to support a dream trip. We elected a semi-private tour and it was seamless. Private guides and travel assistance provided everywhere with handoff/handback at Galapagos Legend ship. The Legend was the SA recommendation and was truly superb accommodations, food, guides and service. Guides at Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Quito, Cusco. Lima and Lake Titicaca were all excellent. Professional, terrific knowledge, communication and attitude. They also provided great interactions with locals, their beliefs and challenges, and how they really live their lives. Megan Ribeiro, our travel planner contact, was super efficient, great listener and perfect recommendations. Her communication was great. The itinerary link and supporting trip information was clear and easy to use.
From the initial email discussion all the way through planning, adjustment, and even some significant last-minute changes (including adding a traveler for part of the trip!), Stephanie and SA were fantastic in accommodating and tailor-making my trip to my exact specifications. Once on the trip, Stephanie continued to stay in touch and adjust in real-time as needed, although there were only minor adjustments requested (by me). This is my first time using SA and based on my experience, I would certainly use them again in the future. It was a bit of a leap of faith on my part as I'd never used a service such as this before, but I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly everything went and how well they are connected with local guides. I can recommend SA (and Stephanie!) without reservations.
