The most extraordinary experience I've had in the last 10 years was in the Riviera Maya, staying with my husband at the Fairmont Mayakoba hotel. The scenery, the service, the attention to detail, the cuisine, and the collaboration made with Le Labo (cherry on top), made the memory unforgettable. I would always go back and highly recommend it. My best friend also visited it with her wife and agrees with me that it's a truly special place.

Disappointing Experience for High Cost

I paid £800 for a two-night stay at this hotel, but the main shower barely worked, with no proper flow. The breakfast on the first day was satisfactory, but on the second morning, I waited ten minutes for a pot of tea, which arrived after I had finished my meal. I had to ask twice for it. I opted to pay in installments since I couldn't afford the full amount upfront, but when I inquired about doing this again, I was told no. There seems to be mixed messages from management, which is disappointing as it feels like they are turning away business, or perhaps I don't meet their expectations.

Fantastic Stay at a Lovely Hotel

We had a wonderful experience at a hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road. The property is beautifully designed, with spacious rooms and excellent amenities. The breakfast spread was impressive. A special mention to the staff member on our floor who was exceptionally polite, and our room was cleaned immaculately each day.

Service Issues at a Prestigious Hotel

I stayed for a 4-day conference expecting high standards from a renowned hotel. While the location and in-room coffee were excellent, several service shortcomings impacted my stay. Upon arrival, I found a dirty pillow with stains. Although it was replaced, there was no apology. Housekeeping was delayed, and I had to find staff myself. On checkout day, I was disturbed despite a 'Do Not Disturb' sign. The valet service was costly, and some items went missing from my vehicle. Overall, it didn't meet the standards I anticipated, and improvements in service consistency and guest care are necessary.

Not Worth the Price

I reached out to the hotel the day before to confirm my booking but received no response. They charge a daily resort fee plus tax. The hotel is pleasant, and the staff are welcoming, but our room lacked electrical outlets on one side of the bed, had slow Wi-Fi, and the towels were scratchy. The bathroom sink faucet was loose, and there were only two sugars and creamers for six coffee pods. The room had minimal decor. While it was soundproofed, most hotels at half the price would suffice.

Great View, But Poor Experience

Upon arrival at a hotel in Canada, we were greeted and told our room would be ready soon. We waited in a hot guest lounge for an hour before moving outside with no seating. We ended up sitting on a concrete wall for 2.5 hours until our room was finally ready at 3 PM. For a hotel claiming to be luxury, this was very disappointing.

Vehicle Damage with No Accountability

I left my car with the valet service at a hotel and found it damaged upon retrieval, with a tire pressure alarm going off. Staff noticed a slash in the tire sidewall, which was later confirmed to be a cut, not from debris. Despite this, the valet service denied responsibility, claiming the car was in perfect condition when it left. Management initially offered to assist but ultimately sided with the valet service, offering no compensation. This experience overshadowed our stay, and guests should be aware of the lack of accountability for vehicle damage.

Overpriced Lunch at the Hotel

We stayed at a hotel in Dubai and noticed significant changes in the area since our last visit. The cleanliness was acceptable, and the quality of breakfast and dinner was excellent. However, we ordered a pizza for lunch without knowing the price, which turned out to be £35 for a poor-quality margarita. If I had known the cost beforehand, I would have skipped it.

Wonderful Hotel Experience with Minor Issues

This hotel is stunning with exceptional service. Our deluxe room had an ocean view and was spacious. Though we had to change rooms due to an AC issue, it was handled swiftly. The staff were attentive and friendly, and we received a lovely cake for a birthday celebration. The only downside was the temperature of soft drinks at the pool bar, which were served warm to all-inclusive guests. This was surprising and needs to be addressed for a better experience.
