I received a Pawp membership through Walmart+ and then signed up for Emergency care for up to 6 pets

I received a Pawp membership through Walmart+ and then signed up for Emergency care for up to 6 pets. Well, I have 5 dogs. After registering all 5 and inputting info about each one, I received a detailed care plan for each dog. Then I asked a question about one dog's skin/coat condition and was able to chat with a LVT, after waiting only a few minutes. She asked questions, then gave so much advice and info. When the conversation was over, all of that info was transferred to my dog's file for future reference. Then I asked a question about another dog and received the same quick response and detailed information. This is a good way to gather initial info about a problem your pet may have, then if necessary you go ahead and make an appointment with your regular vet. I'm very impressed and pleased with this online service and will recommend it to others.

This has been a horrible experience all the way around. After cancelling service I have been charged

This has been a horrible experience all the way around. After cancelling service I have been charged twice more. After contacting I was refunded 17.00 of the 19.00 that they charged to the closed account. it is difficult to contact anyone from the company. I tried this thru the Walmart+ program and I will be contacting Walmart to advise them against working with this scam company.

Disappointing Experience with Emergency Coverage

My dog was attacked by a wild animal, and this was supposed to be straightforward since it was an emergency. The insurance claims a response time of 5-7 days, but here I am, two months later, only able to send texts. The only reply I get is to be patient, with no clarity on the delays. Tragically, my dog passed away during this period, and I canceled my plan. They still charged me and then denied my refund request, advising me to contact my bank. The customer support has been extremely poor, making this a frustrating use of time and money. I have little hope for any compensation.

Our tabby ate a lily leaf at 1…

Our tabby ate a lily leaf at 1 a.m.—terrifying. Pawp’s vet on video diagnosed pretty fast and saved us a panic run to the ER, but follow-up info took hours and the script they sent was 30% pricier than our local clinic. Useful in a pinch, just don’t expect white-glove care.

I’ve been a member since 2022

I’ve been a member since 2022, and I’ve recommended this insurance to many friends and family members because it seemed like such a great option—especially after seeing a colleague in the veterinary field have a successful experience with her cat’s claim.Recently, I had an emergency with my own dog that resulted in a heartbreaking brain tumor diagnosis. I had to say goodbye to her shortly after speaking with one of your chat representatives, who was absolutely wonderful—kind, informative, and compassionate. She made me feel like I was in good hands during one of the hardest moments of my life. When it came time to process my claim, I followed the directions exactly: uploading the full medical record and invoice, then waiting the stated 5–7 business days for a decision. After that timeframe passed with no update, I reached out and was repeatedly told to “please be patient.” I did my best to be understanding, but nearly a month went by before I finally received a decision on October 1st. Even now, I’m still waiting on the actual payment from that approved claim. To make matters worse, communication eventually stopped altogether. The chat team—who were initially helpful—stopped responding to me entirely. This whole experience has been extremely disappointing, especially after the promise of quick processing and clear communication that was advertised.I work as an emergency veterinary technician and have done so for 12 years, so I understand how challenging and emotionally taxing this field can be. That’s why I want to emphasize that your veterinary technicians are truly wonderful, and their compassion doesn’t go unnoticed. However, the claims and communication process needs serious improvement.Saying goodbye to my girl was already gut-wrenching. I just wanted the financial aspect to be handled smoothly so I could grieve and move forward. Instead, I’ve been left emotionally and financially drained, waiting for weeks for something that should have been resolved long ago.Because of this, I won’t be continuing my membership or recommending this insurance to clients or colleagues in my hospital anymore. This isn’t because I don’t see the potential value—it’s because I had so much hope after paying into this for three years, only to be let down when I finally needed it most.I’m still waiting on that payment, and I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for others in the future.

My cat started wheezing at 2 a.m.

My cat started wheezing at 2 a.m. and Pawp’s vet on video was kind—she talked me through checking his gums and tempo, which steadied my panic. Still, when I asked for the advertised $3 k “emergency fund,” the hoops appeared: receipts, fax-quality records, then radio silence for three days. He’s fine now, but the safety net feels more like fishing line—strong until you lean on it.

No prescription in Texas

No prescription in Texas, the only reason I bothered signing up for this service. Very disappointing.

Has tons of potential

This was free with Walmart plus membership. It has so much potential but really lacks a lot. A telehealth platform for pets is a great idea whether it's free or there's a small fee. Pawp is free but in my state they cannot dispense prescriptions...so I ask "why bother??!" The point, in my opinion , is to save a vet visit fee and just have to pay for a script. A fine service if it were designed that way. So in order to get money they recommend and provide links of pet items you can use from Walmart...or their emergency insurance , which "no thank you, I'm not a circus performer, and jumping thru any hoops" for that offer ....I'm okay with pushing Walmart pet items if thats in conjunction with vet service that includes a prescription. I used pawp for my pug who has severe allergies and have seen prescription dog allergy meds on tv. I've tried everything natural..you name it. Figured I'd save money on a local visit and just get some medicine which is rather pricey already. I was told they don't dispense in my state and was offered 4-5 Walmart items to try. They confirmed the prescription item in question was probably what she needed and I should find a local vet ....so again "why bother" with pawp. 24/7 telehealth service for what purpose?? It's a free service so I'm out no money and can't really bash the platform, but they could do so much better and provide so much more value to pets and their owners.
