Two officers forced me to stop on a bike path, made me give my personal details, made me give access to my phone and drove me home for no reason.
They also contacted my parents telling lies that they were contacted that I was showing distress (walking up, down & waving hands) when I was not and was fine. (I was total stranger) Actually telling lies about me so they cover up for not just insufficient reason but literally no reason! That’s shocking behaviour and an absolute disgrace! It makes me so angry!
They made Mum come out of work at school, wasted her time in work and getting me in trouble with family members or worrying them when I didn’t do anything.
Me & all my family have been both walking and biking there multiple times before including in lockdown. I’ve been there before with family walking to shop /cafe without time wasting incompetent police officers who can’t find anything useful to do on their job apart from trying to cause as much distress as they possibly can to innocent pedestrians at which ever location they feel like.
The bridge is literally for walkers / cyclists not even a car bridge. It’s better to not have a bridge if you are not allowed to use it. It’s ridiculous! The bridge is there for a reason which is not there for the police to ruin your day! In Highway Code they have no right! I will have to now cross the road maybe with a bike to protect me from them! It’s ludicrous - they can’t take you home and make your family stop their work when ever they feel like!
How negative the reviews are on here shows everything you need to know about police force. Stopping then harassing me on streets & family on phone for nothing and not investigating crime. They are a waste of our money and time.
I previously shared concerns about an officer's conduct. During a visit regarding ongoing neighbor issues, she exhibited odd behavior, including complaints about my home's temperature. I recorded the interaction, and her refusal to engage appropriately was troubling. She accused me of dishonesty and displayed a hostile demeanor, even entering my bedroom without permission. After filing a complaint, her response included falsehoods. Her remarks about my living situation were disrespectful. This raises serious concerns about her suitability for the role, and I hope the department reassesses their hiring practices.
Visited the local police after suffering a hate crime from my estranged family, involving serious psychological abuse and threats. It seems that only overt acts of violence warrant attention. The officers appear uninformed about the law and fail to recognize the impact of emotional abuse. Despite presenting clear evidence, they dismissed it with a mere glance at some messages. The police didn't even take the time to question witnesses properly. An officer's condescending attitude towards my elderly mother was disheartening, as they labeled the situation a 'family dispute.' It seems that familial ties allow for unchecked behavior. My past experiences with them have been equally disappointing, and their lack of professionalism is evident. I doubt they would handle any crime effectively.
Contacted the local authorities again as neighbors persist with threats and false accusations that jeopardize our safety. Once more, the response was merely to tell them to stop, despite knowing their intentions. We have offered to facilitate a witness interview multiple times, and only today, when a witness was present, did they finally hear the testimony, yet they dismissed it. The authorities promised to follow up within a week, but over two weeks have passed with no communication. It seems likely we will face an attack, and when it occurs, they can't claim ignorance, as they have chosen to overlook our harassment. The local police continue to assert that crime rates are low here, but that seems to be because they are not addressing any issues. When does a crime cease to be a crime? The discrepancy between the local police's claims and the transport police's assessment of the area raises serious questions about their reliability.
I've called several times regarding two different crimes, one very serious and the other somewhat serious. Each time, I was told it was not something they would pursue. When I questioned their role, they confirmed they were the police but claimed they don't investigate theft or murder. Now, they're even removing my posts. The implications of not taking matters into my own hands are troubling, but if I feel threatened, what other options do I have?
The local authorities show no concern for drug issues in the area. I requested a stronger police presence, but the officer seemed more interested in reprimanding me for my frustration. My sister lost her life to drugs, yet they trivialize the situation. Their responses are absurd and demonstrate a complete lack of action.
I witnessed a politically charged demonstration where the police appeared to side with aggressive individuals rather than maintaining order. My partner was injured during the chaos, and the authorities failed to intervene effectively. It was alarming to see them allow such disorder to unfold, and their lack of action suggests they are not on the side of public safety.
My dealings with the local authorities have been exhausting. I reported an incident with ample details, including witness accounts and CCTV location, yet they continually asked for my version of events. Their disorganized approach and dismissive attitude have only added to my stress. Instead of receiving support, I feel like a nuisance for expecting professionalism. The lack of follow-up on clear evidence reflects a troubling culture within the department that undermines public trust.
