Review Time
I tried to use Powtoon for a school project, but it is unusable. It is extremely laggy (and my computer can run most things fine) and it is way too expensive. It was hell and it took me a week to make 10 slides. I do not recommend this at all and will go as far as to say that you will probably fail school projects using this website. I haven't gotten my grade back, though, so wish me luck (not that it will do anything).
During the process of making my powtoon project, the software was lagging which caused me to spend twice as much time on it. Once I completed making my powtoon (which was amazing to see how great it looked), I thought perhaps the lagging would go away once I export the video. However, the video also came out laggy and I exported the same video multiple times to see if the quality would change (it didn't!). I then sent an email regarding this issue and requested a refund if not full maybe half refund could work, and they didn't accept it as it was exported already. I told them to check that I exported the same powtoon multiple times not different projects however this didn't change their response.
I woke up this morning to 350 emails in my inbox. Someone used my email and my common password that was shared on the dark net to sign me up for 300 + lists to hide that they hacked into a payment account. I contacted Powtoon, letting them know I was hacked and asked to be removed. They responded to me immediately and canceled my email. This is the best Customer Service I have ever received from a place I have no service with! Thank you Ron.
I was impressed with their support system: instant acknowledgement email after my inquiry; a live person attended my question in about two hours; after account verification, my question was answered in three hours time window! Pretty impressive in the age of BOT as first tier support!
I'm a new user using the free account. I put in 20 hours working on a project for a school course - when I finished I was surprised to find out I couldn't download it without paying for upgraded service. I stripped out the premium objects I used but couldn't download them with the approaching deadline. A Saturday night service request fixed the problem within hours.
