Can I complain about Trustpilot not allowing a zero star rating?
Quickbooks online. Where do I start. Horrible company to deal with. The problem is that I am sure they think they are really top notch. If you want lag times that make you weep, rubbish customer service (I am sure because the reps have had enough of being called out for crap software), pointless cosmetic upgrades. A new user interface that will leave you floundering to do something that you knew exactly how to handle yesterday but today is a bizarre minefield of hopeless added layers. The problem is that moving to another package is likely to be just as bad. The inevitable consequence of clueless UK government intervention being pounced upon as an easy way to make money.
DO NOT use their services! I cancelled my subscription months ago, they kept trying to take £65 out of my account every few days. After contacting customer services, they assured me no more money would be debited from the account. It’s happened twice more since. I’ve check my account and it is suspended yet they still keep trying to take £65 out!!!
RUN AWAY!! I would leave zero stars if I could. Problems since day one. The "seamless integration" that I was promised was a nightmare. It took more than two months and many, many man hours to resolve. The cost is out of line for the service it provides and customer service is non-existent except canned copy from A.I. Now it's February 13 and, despite being charged for printing and mailing, my employees have not received their W2 forms. Spent more than six hours trying to find out where they are with no satisfaction. No refund. No reimbursement for having a third party do what QBO has already charged me for, not to mention the waste of time.
After a month of using Quickbooks, I was randomly locked out of my account and kept getting an "access is denied" message when inputting the email I signed up with. Customer service says that "only a mailchimp agent has access to my account". What the hell does mailchimp have to do with being able to access my QB account. There was no urgency in restoring my access as I was told they would call me back days ago. By the way, it is Feb 11.... tax season. Great timing to not have access to my business books. I will be cancelling my subscription as soon as I get access.
Our company uses QuickBooks Online and I am doing everything I can to go with ANY other company. Intuit is so out of touch with it's customers - customer service is a robot that is extremely limited or rude and unhelpful reps that are simply googling what to do. They force you to accept their awful "upgrades" clearly put in place by people who have never actually used the program. So difficult to find what you are looking for. Can't customize reports - not ALLOWED to take out columns you don't want. Try running an AGING report - you are forced to show what the customer currently owes but is in good standing. No way to run a report on customers who are past due on invoices. Every time you go to do something and click the back arrow, you are not taken back to what you were working on - you are taken back to the original page that QuickBooks opened without any of your filters!!!! Please do not get embroiled in this horrible, stupid and careless company!!!!!
Today I contacted Quickbooks to solve two problems, one in my Quickbooks Payroll account and one in my Quickbooks Online account. At the end of two hours neither problem was solved and no one at Quickbooks is pursuing resolution of either of these issues offline.
The problem in the Payroll account is a direct result of the supposed upgrade Quickbooks made in September, much to the detriment of my checking account, which was reconciled and in balance at the time. 41 transactions that had been reconciled in 2023 and 2024 mysteriously reappeared in my checking account, throwing it of out of balance and preventing me from reconciling 2025 sooner than solving all 41 problems.
It took 4 hours of my time to research and fix 35 of those transactions, leaving 6 transactions that would require Quickbooks' assistance to repair. All six of those transactions were in the Payroll account--problems that were caused by Quickbooks Payroll and can only be fixed by Quickbooks Payroll... maybe. As a small business owner, my time is better spent in forward-looking activities--not repairing problems that a lame service provider like Quickbooks creates.
Quickbooks Payroll had somehow managed to place two different versions of the same transaction in two different checking accounts, NOT good accounting practice from the people who think they know it all--and never do. The withdrawal from the correct account was improperly categorized as an expense; the withdrawal from the wrong account was properly categorized as a tax payment, but had no EDIT or DELETE button, something only Quickbooks can do, and hasn't.
The woman in Payroll that I first spoke with put me on hold, telling me periodically that she was waiting for the fixes to be processed. As it turns out, she could not solve these problems on her own and was also holding for someone elsewhere in Quickbooks Payroll to do this for her, while she kept me holding for her.
This is one of the most insulting features of Quickbooks Not-Customer-Service, if you don't stay on the phone, they will not resolve your issue offline and you will have to start all over again with someone else, from scratch. More wasted time, for which Quickbooks is completely unapologetic and never offers to compensate you for your wasted time, their never-ending mistakes, their untrained personnel and the unnecessary complications of them jumping on the AI bandwagon sooner than they'd vetted it in actual practice.
At an hour and 33 minutes, during which time my business had closed and I missed dinner with my family, this woman finally came back to me to say she would be transferring me to someone else who would take care of my issue. I was shocked, she should have never kept me on the phone so long for this outcome--any reputable company would have told you that straight up and not wasted your time--but not Quickbooks.
At 16 minutes into the second conversation, the man I was speaking with told me that he could not fix either transaction (which may be true for him, but is not true in reality) and that the best I could hope for is a journal entry to cancel the effect of the right transaction in the wrong account and that I would have to live with the wrong transaction in the right account forever.
Well, guess what, my Payroll accounts will be wrong forever, thanks to Quickbooks not correcting the wrong transaction in the right account. No Payroll report that I will ever pull from now on will be correct because this transaction is miscategorized, making my Payroll and my books useless as a management tool. My opinion of Quickbooks Payroll, which was already low, is now colored by how unforgivable their arrogance and stupidity are.
That was Problem #1; Problem #2 is that I can't reconcile my checking account because a transaction that was missing and then uploaded to Banking Transactions for reconciliation in the account register is not showing up on the Reconciliation screen three days after it was reconciled. The first woman I spoke with agreed, the transaction was correct and the Reconciliation screen was not, but she could do nothing about it. That's another phone call and more wasted time.
So, two strikes against her and Quickbooks--but I am the big loser, I can't reconcile my checking account and have to go through another round of these miserable conversations with people who don't know what they're doing before I get down to the real business of reconciling my checking account.
If you were thinking of using Quickbooks or Quickbooks Payroll, my advice is "DON'T." I've lost 6 HOURS of my valuable time trying to get 41 problems that Quickbooks caused fixed and Quickbooks has been no help at all, which sadly is standard operating procedure at Quickbooks.
Worse experience ever and you can’t get thru to anyone that’s speaks English it’s a call center in another country every time horrible the whole time I used them and will never use them again and they have hidden charges and once charged you do not get it back it’s ascam
Quickbooks Online is Absolute Garbage.
As a software engineer, I had run my company on it for years. At one point it was awesome. But now, I have put up with it for the last time this tax season.
Nothing works, wants a stupid amount of money for "support"
I am going to have to waste a lot of time and money getting my accounting system moved away from them.
For ever and always they are on my banned company list. Along with any executives they currently employ. Wherever they land, I will leave that companies products as well. Might think about that.
This platform has withheld a $75,000 payment from our customer and refuses to provide any written explanation. We requested an email detailing why the funds are on hold, but the support team claims they cannot do that. Their assistance is only verbal. I am baffled by how this service remains operational. We are considering legal action soon if they do not deposit or refund the customer.
The company advised us to transition from a desktop version to an online platform and assured us that our historical data had been successfully transferred. However, we were not informed about the need to export reports beforehand or provided with temporary read-only access to the desktop version. Post-migration, we found that our historical expense reports on the online platform lack essential account mappings and labels, rendering them unusable for audits and financial assessments. With no access to the desktop version, we are unable to retrieve accurate historical reports. We invested over six hours with the support team, but the company refused to offer a formal escalation or complaint process, stating that in-product feedback was our only option. They suggested manual fixes for transactions, which does not resolve the issue of lost historical reporting integrity. This situation could have been avoided and has led to significant operational challenges and audit risks.
