Lot's of great cameras at interesting locations around the country and on heritage railways. Friendly chatroom and user-friendly data pages to research movements on the railway.
It's just so easy and rewarding to keep an eye on all things 'railway'. The cameras are in some superb locations and pick up some really great views, and not just of trains! Try the Dawlish cams when there's a storm! The members who post in the chat room are all friendly and knowledgeable and the moderators do a brilliant job of keeping things on the right track.Railcam also provides a service for rail users - you can check the progress of your train and keep an eye out to see if the paltform is heaving before you even set off!Highly recommended!
There's no better website for rail enthusiasts, it is operated BY enthusiasts FOR enthusiasts, however, I know for certain it is often used by 'the professionals' (the REAL railway) at times . Real time cameras, data, real time signalling diagrams and a well informed chat room (more 'experts' than you can point a stick at !) . If you live backing on to, or have a view of, railway lines why not offer to host a camera... have a look at the site even if you're only mildly interested in railways. however, a warning.. it is addictive !Well worth a look.. well worth the subscription to access all the info, data, chat and cams .
