This company is now the subject of investigation by the Financial Services Ombudsman. It should be noted that scenic insurance is under the same ownership / management systems as Swintons and a few other brokers, which were part of the following catalogue of disasters.Incident 1: Took out and paid for vehicle insurance over the phone. Took me nearly an hour. Was suspicious that the call handler was ‘out of his depth’. No withdrawal on my credit card and no record of policy. I had to repeat whole exercise again later. Could easily have been left without insurance.Incident 2: Quote for new electric car more than double the premium I was subsequently charged by Churchill for a better policy.Incident 3: Quote for short term insurance on my son’s vehicle three times the quote from Churchill.Incident 4: Received email out of the blue threatening to cancel my policy mid term, without any explanation of a problem. When contacted the reason was utterly frivolous: a discrepancy in my occupation between ‘Retired’ and ‘Retired signwriter’.This happened three times over the same ‘non issue’, costing me in excess of 2 hours telephone time.It goes without saying that I have now transferred all my insurance business elsewhere.
