Review Time
At the time I first gave Seaart a try, last autumn, they were on the verge of a downhill slide. I caught them in a moment when I could still enjoy a little interesting chatting with a bot and post just about everything I had a mind to, for people to see, and browse others' creations. Most of that was banal tripe, but there was a streak of pictures and bots worth checking out. That was the last of the good times.
Shortly they began to implement censorship in bot chats, and after that they started censoring user-generated pictures. They claimed "safety" - of course, what else! The censoring, heavy-handed and inane, increased exponentially: users were, and are, denied the opportunity to view their own pictures, images made in the past, in account history, were also closed to them (including for paid accounts), and everything from a bikini to not even that began to be, and still is, prohibited as nudity. Meanwhile the chatbots were getting hammered with flat denials to communicate about any topic not fitting what must be the Chinese Communist Party's view of the world, rosy-cheeked as Chairman Mao. The censoring, itself thrust in the "smart" management of company bots, rages uncontrollable now. Superlatives don't reach that high. It is more accurate to say that nearly nothing of interest, truth, honesty or real-world relevance may be generated anymore; and often credits are withheld for blocked requests. The tiny minority of pictures and chat characters that make it through the gauntlet of wholesomeness cannot be posted or shared. On the platform it is called "low health." As someone has noted, SeaArt treats sex as a disease. But this is not just about sex pictures, it is about all kinds that deviate from a standard of kitten pics. Users are virtually trapped in their own accounts, unable to show their work to each other, unless it's some pink fluffy rabbits eating ice cream (and not anything with dreadful keywords like "sexy" or "goddamn"). All kinds of covers at random are blurred, and Mature mode does not help.
My own account is free, but I have paid heavily with wasted time. Others have lost money, their work deleted, blocked, shadowbanned - this website is vastly inventive in its dishonesty and clings to subscriber money. Many subscribers have had to claw their money back from these people. On top of all this, nothing works properly. The website and the app consume enormous amounts of memory and crash all the time. They are heaped with enormous, gaudy pop-ups pushing endless offers that "end soon!" yet keep returning and stomach-turning kitsch "community events." These events encourage users to generate images on topics from the bottom of the chest of anime cliches. The whole thing is swamped with totalitarian cuteness, gamified to make users spend their credit points on meaningless "surprise boxes" and rewards. There are promotions and suggestions everywhere that you can't block or switch off, at most some can be retired for a day. The website runs a slew of trackers and sends data to Tiktok, Yandex, all sorts of places. This is seen on the bottom of the window.
I could go on, but these people are beyond evil, harmful and low. They even ended up removing the link to a feedback page that they had made a mistake of creating. Users can no longer read about each other's horrible experience and witness how SeaArt promises improvements and even, astoundingly, claims it has sorted out the issues. Instead users are pushed to ask for support on Discord, because there is no real customer service of any sort. I have never been the user of a website that came so close to pure, lying, repressive evil. Here is the link to the feedback page, read what people are actually saying before it gets deleted...
It seems they don't allow links here. Stupid. Well, go to Featurebase.app and insert "seaartai" before the word "featurebase" in the address. You will discover what people are really saying.
And yet it had the potential of actually being cool.
They're scamming people by way of fraudulent charges to their bank accounts and not letting them create the content they're paying to create through unnecessary censorship. This company is illegal. Avoid at all costs
After years of being worth the time spent on it, It's turned into a snowflake pile of rubbish, even simple non-offensive searches are now coming back empty, saying it is a restricted subject....complete and utter waste of time. What is more the site point-blank refuses to let one delete the account, constantly putting you in a loop....it has turned into a joke.
Horrible scam of a website, don't even bother. It was actually AWESOME, once upon a time.. but now.. Everything (I mean EVERYTHING) gets flagged for no reason and the only result is that you lose your credits and time literally for NOTHING. Stay clear and use your money and time elsewhere.
Horrendous, from sketchy (but useable initially) to virtually unusable (normal park scenes and fully clothed fashion videos ALL fail content moderation without explanation and while the input image originally passes... although since a few days even anything with a face gets blocked)......AND...they STEAL your CREDITS 😡🤬Sometimes you get the failed video credits returned, but if it fails again, you lose the credits(While MUCH more risque content is viewable on the site).Even videos on face swap, using THEIR OWNprovided TikTok dance videos get blocked for being "NSFW"...! 🤔🤯It's unusable and unpredictable and greedy. They also don't allow you to manage your SUBSCRIPTION (nowhere in your accountis a link or page for it).You have to jump through hoops, viapromo banners or the pricing page, but even then you can't manage anything if you have paused your subscription...Everything is designed to SCAM and maximizeprofits at the expense of the customer, usability and clarity..😡👎

My original review mentioned I *might* renew my subscription. NOW, I have decided not to renew it. This is in light of the fact that they remove 95% of the LoRAs that were once available. They hope to force people to use the much more expensive models, which supposedly provide better accuracy in generating closer-to-prompt AI images, possibly without the need for LoRAs. However, in order to use these models without limitation or cost, you will have to subscribe exclusively to the highest plan available, which is the "Master SVIP" plans, which cost as much as €42 a month (or €19.11/month currently on Christmas sale.) Honestly, €20 a month is nothing. It's just a little more than a Netflix or Disney Plus subscription. But the fact that it forcing me to choose the most expensive plan do not sit well with me. Because of this, it's time to move on.
