I had an accident on 29 Dec. I thought they might be like my previous insurer, who picked up the bike, assessed it and paid up before I even got out of hospital!
No way - Shannons is now a front for Suncorp, their foreign call centre didn't know a Vic licence plate should end with a letter and wrote an 1 instead of an I. Because this doesn't match up with the insurance they accused me of Fraud - three months of investigations where I gave them all but my firstborn, and still the best they can do is to say they will find out in two weeks. I don't think they employ any humans in Australia, they own the company that ripped off my son as well, not sure how much they paid AFCA, but I bet it was more than they owed us.
My injuries left me unable to drive a car, but a guy from one of the groups helped me get it rideable. I only got one good ride in before our wonderful hospital system exposed me to RSV and measles, it was finally picked up before I could ride again. Without being able to drive and no public transport I am essentially housebound, and because they accused me of fraud they wouldn't even pay for new glasses (I don't have to wear them for driving/riding, but can do little around the house.)
You would do better to just burn a 50 or two each month than use this company.

Integrity lost

Integrity lost . A once great insurer now treating long term valuable customers with impossible wait times , redirected and misdirected calls , incorrect information given . I had home and multiple cars with Shannons for many years and have cancelled home and about to cancel cars after a now 3 month wait with no progress on a not at fault claim on my 1951 classic car . So disappointed .

What a shame

What a shame, Shannon’s used to be for the motor enthusiast…… sharing the passion of cars through great insurance practices - not now. You'll find them to be for themselves, money grabbing, Zero customer service and shonky practices. Will not be going with them again.

Shannons – Great at Questions, Terrible at Insurance

Shannons is less an insurance company and more a wannabe country club for car snobs. I called to arrange laid-up insurance for a vehicle and spent 35 minutes being grilled with absurd, irrelevant questions — what other cars I own, what motorsports I watch, whether I’ve “handled” a similar car before, even what I paid for it. Then they refused to insure it because it was unregistered — despite the entire discussion being about laid-up cover, which by definition is for cars not on the road. They seem more interested in curating their little fan club than providing actual insurance. Out-of-touch, arrogant, and a complete waste of time if you value common sense.

Best insurance for new drivers and anyone who wants good pricing.

Shannons is a very good insurance. Highly recommend.I have been with Shannons since 2020 due to Budget Direct and RACQ refused to insure me due to me being under 25 and having my licence less then 5 years. Pricing around shows that Shannons has very good prices and reward their loyal customers.They even insure my car with alot higher then market price due to their agreed value policies.Before you think shannons is not a good insurance due to the overall low star reviews, look at the very low number of reviews they have at all and think of how many happy customers they have who never thought to review them.

DISGUSTING YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED

7 months up the track ,3 quotes and still getting stuffed around for a quote approval, the disceet and lies from Shannons insurance or Suncorp is disgusting . Complaints or fair treatment ( none) Agreed value ( laughable) choice of repairer ( means we tell you where to take it , as in a shannons repairer) life time warranty on repairs ( they will say your car has exsisting damage , and will not cover you on repairs for life even when you have to use their repairer that they tell you to go to .... something suss their .... and assessors get bonus for reaching targets ..... Laughable .... do not repeat DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY its not for the classic car enthusist any more it is for lining a companies pocket on what used to be the name SHANNONS and all it stood for . They are useing our love of classic cars and Preserving our classic cars ...THEY ARE PREYING ON WHAT SHANNONS INSURANCE ONCE STOOD FOR ... READ ALL REVIEWS ... NOT GOOD .... I WOULD NOT EVEN RATE ONE STAR .....

Left bleeding by the side of that road...

Shannons left me bleeding by the side of the road for 2.5 hours before they finally took my call and sent a tow truck that was only 20 mins away. They didn't pay the tow truck company so my vehicle stayed at the holding yard for a week. The vehicle was then sent to a dealer that refuses to assess it instead wanting to send it to the dealer it was bought from and Shannons still won't have the vehicle moved or assessed. For OVER TWO WEEKS I have had no transport and they continue to take my Australian dollars but give me Indian levels of service. We need to stop giving money to companies like this
