Amazing experience. The 2 days was well structured and built on the first one (albeit felt you could come to this one without doing it - saying that the airbrush and blending pieces from the first course are useful here). I liked James styles of teaching, he breaks things down and explains why he does it that way, makes it easier to think about applying in other situations. He is also very approachable to asking question, using slightly different paint schemes and giving encouragement. I really liked the idea that success for the days isn’t about the quality of what you paint but more about leaning a process that can be applied in your painting outside of the course. Can’t wait for them to develop a 3rd course as will sign up for it straight away
The session was on time and easy to join and participate. George was excellent, very patient and explained concepts and showed practical tips which will really help my painting. Very easy to communicate with and explain any questions I had. Would highly recommend Siege Studios.
Went to EMC1 at Billericay. Had a great time and learnt so much from James. The course was really well laid out and I knew exactly what we were learning and when.James is an excellent teacher with the patience of a saint with me and my checking lol.Will most definitely be booking the other course for next year.
Just went on Siege Studio's Essentials Master Course 1 and would highly recommend it for expanding your miniature painting skills. Really informative, with loads of practical techniques and tips which you implement under guidance during the course.
James was really friendly, very knowledgeable and most importantly readily available to answer any questions or give feedback. I've been painting for about 5 years and have got to a certain level so wanted to relearn bad habits I've got into. This really helped me and made me look at certain aspects of painting differently. Ordered the Siege-recommended painting light on day 1 of one of the weekend courses, and James brought it in with him the next day.The light is amazing. Where I used to use 2 of those basic LED positionable lights before, this light on its own, on a lower brightness, still gives off more and better light than the 2 lights combined.Highly recommend.
To begin with Siege have a very informative website with good photography around their painting levels. Really clear pictures and no unnecessary dramatic effects. Once started, the process is very straight forward and guidance is always very clear. Once a painter is allocated and the work starts the updates are very regular. Most important the painting is excellent and more than met my expectations. I feel the level of quality I received at bronze level was on par at minimum with the same models I have seen at Warhammer world in the exhibition. Very clean paint work. Very consistent too. I have collected Warhammer since I was a kid so It means the world to me to have a lovely painted army. The whole experience has been brilliant. I cannot recommended them enough.
Although the wait was a long time (over a year I think) the updates & general communication was very good. When there was an issue the response was quick and decisive. The end result was well worth the wait & the cost. I will use the service again & wouldn't hesitate to recommend it
