Review Time
I was searching for a new gym and scheduled an appointment over the phone for 12:30 on Wednesday, January 21st at a local leisure center. I arrived on time and was instructed by the reception to wait outside the office, with the staff member aware of my arrival. I observed him making phone calls and working on his computer as the time passed 12:30. Suddenly, another employee brought in someone without an appointment, and they were immediately attended to while I was overlooked. This was extremely poor customer service and unprofessional. I had already begun to doubt my choice after reading reports of staff conflicts at the center. My visit only confirmed my decision to look elsewhere. Additionally, it was a frustrating waste of my time and fuel, having traveled about 10 miles from my location.
After nearly two years, we decided to discontinue our child's swimming lessons with the service, and I wanted to share our experience for other parents. The individual instructors were genuinely kind and caring, but the overall program felt disorganized and poorly managed. Despite consistent attendance from around 18 months to nearly 3½ years old, we noticed very little clear progression, and our child remained in a class with much younger children. The service claims to follow a structured framework, yet we were never informed of our child's progress or the skills being taught, nor did we receive any record of advancement. Basic water safety skills were also not consistently addressed. Substitute sessions were often of low quality, with untrained staff filling in, and communication was lacking — we frequently learned of last-minute changes only upon arrival. Ultimately, we decided to leave after trying another provider and witnessing a significant difference. Children much younger than our son were confidently demonstrating skills and safety awareness he had never been taught, which was quite disappointing after such a lengthy commitment. Overall, while the staff were kind, I wouldn't recommend this service for parents seeking well-structured swimming lessons with clear progression and communication.
The roller skating event was poorly organized, with staff either absent or preoccupied on their phones. Smaller children were running around indiscriminately, disrupting others who were skating. It would be beneficial to have separate sessions for different age groups, as it was complete chaos.

The organization is ineffective; there have been multiple instances of the entire facility being closed due to the manager's erratic behavior. There is a lack of communication, leaving patrons to check the website for updates. Equipment is frequently broken, and the quality of the rowing machines is subpar. The overall experience at this facility is incredibly frustrating.
I frequent the local gym, which should be a fantastic facility with its range of amenities. It's clean, the staff are helpful, and there’s even a nice café. However, it is unfortunately overbooked, and certain equipment is often out of service for extended periods. Even early in the morning, it can be too crowded. While there is an app to book classes, they are always fully booked weeks in advance, leaving little chance for participation. I visited recently and couldn’t even access the parking lot due to it being used as a park-and-ride. Despite being a council facility, it's not inexpensive, and I find it very frustrating when I can't utilize it as I wish. They should consider limiting membership if they want to optimize the experience. I've now canceled my subscription and will seek alternatives.
I utilize the local centers and was surprised by the negative ratings online. My experience has been quite the opposite; the staff have always been friendly and efficient. I have been participating in walking football, badminton, and pickleball for over five years, while my son attends group swimming lessons. Keep up the great work!
It feels like a scam; the service seems solely focused on taking money from customers. We are owed several swimming lessons due to their fault, and arranging these lessons has proven impossible. Additionally, we can't get a refund. The manager was supposed to contact us to arrange extra lessons but has not responded to messages or calls. Avoid this service unless you're willing to lose money.
There are significant issues with the layout at this local facility. The showers are separate from the changing rooms, and the sauna is isolated from everything else. This setup forces patrons to carry their shoes and belongings across various areas, which is inconvenient. The changing rooms lack locks, requiring the use of small lockers with personal padlocks for security. After showering, there's no place to dry off, and accessing the sauna involves a cumbersome process. The entire experience is awkward and impractical, leading me to cancel my membership. All this occurs under public view, which is uncomfortable.
The app advertises a yearly membership deal that seems misleading. When I attempted to pay, the manager was unaware of the offer and confused about the membership structure. Instead of the advertised deal, I ended up with a different arrangement. This discrepancy raises concerns about the legality of their advertising practices, and I wonder what the role of the management is if they lack knowledge of such crucial details. I doubt anyone from the service will respond.
