For the last few weeks, I’ve been reading about the upcoming validity changes and yearly renewals. Luckily, yesterday I grabbed a 3‑year Comodo code signing certificate. I’ve already received my token and cert, and I’m really happy about my last-minute decision.

I purchased a 4 year code signing certificate back in May 2023. They provided it as a 3 year initial plus a 1 year extension I was supposed to receive automatically. Now that my 3 year term is up and I need to obtain my remaining year, they say I have to buy another one year term at $302 to release my extra one year that I already purchased. Should have known it was a scam when they didn't give me my paid 4 years up front.
Purchased a 5 year code signing certificate on 09. Jan. 2023 for $224,- what was a good price but that certificate was only valid for 3 years. Last year I contacted them about the 3 year limit and they told me, they have to re-issue a new certificate and I will get the new one with the remaining 2 years on a HSM token. No word about additional costs.Yesterday I was informed, that to get the remaining two years certificate, I have to purchase an additional one year certificate for $301.99 but I only have 6 days to make the order to get the remaining two year I already purchased.I discussed this with their support team and told them that I consider this to be untrustworthy and that it makes me feel like I'm being cheated. But it looks like they insist on the 134% additional costs, and if I don't agree to that within the next 5 days, I'll probably end up empty-handed and never get the two years I've already paid for.Update 10. Feb. 2026I was able to reach an agreement with SignMyCode that I am now satisfied with.I purchased a code signing certificate for one year and they extended it to three years free of charge. I can live with that, because the prices for certificates are getting higher and higher and I am on the safe side for the next three years.Even though the start was a bit bumpy and I'm not 100% satisfied, the new certificate was processed perfectly and in record time. The support was professional, prompt, and always friendly, even though I may have been a little pushy at times. That's why I have to revise my rating positively.
I tried their Azure Key Vault EV Code Signing and my experience was satisfactory. Was looking for an EV certificate that supports Azure KeyVult and doesn't cost much.To my surprise, their after sales was also good.To say the least I found exactly what I wanted.
I ordered an EV Code Signing certificate over a month ago. I had to follow up multiple times to keep the ball rolling on validation. It turns out they gave Sectigo an email address for me containing a typo they made. So, today I'm sitting here with a $900 token in my hands but no password to access it. I follow up with support every other day and they give me the run around. Will initiate a chargeback if I don't have a token password by Wednesday.
Just after receiving my Sectigo code signing certificate, I requested a reissue to change/remove my personal email address. However it never came through. After following up with support, I was informed the only option was to purchase a new certificate due to hardware key requirements and to note the price had increased significantly from $150 to around $600, plus $130 for shipping. Although Signmycode.com acknowledge their mistake of not resolving the first request, they refused to provide a replacement certificate and would only offer 10-15% discount on a new order, even though their website was offering a 20% discount at the time! After many chats and emails they agreed to waive all certificate costs except for the shipping fee. Unfortunately, this still meant that my total expense would be nearly double to fix *their* mistake. Beware of promises - they may not deliver - even when they admit they are in the wrong.
Used SignMyCode to get a new software signing certificate since they had the lowest price, and the reseller I had used for more than a decade stopped answering emails. Everything went smoothly. I received the certificate within 2 days, with the small delay from the verification process at Sectigo. Can't say anything about their support since I did not need any.
