Review Time
I have loved Smartpak and their products for years…that is until my horse recently passed away. I contacted them to cancel my SmartPaks and they ignored that and continued shipping them. I called and they canceled them and issued me a refund, which was nice. I then received a generic condolence email that was clearly a template form because they left the horse in there next to his name where it was clear the horse part was there to insert a horse’s name. I thought it was nice they tried and maybe the person wasn’t super computer savvy. Then today I got another emails telling me I was losing my smartpak perks because I had cancelled my horse’s SmartPaks and I should reconsider and I still had time to start them back up to get my SmartPaks back. I get that they have these auto emails, but they are a big enough company that they should be able to have a default to not send owners who have lost their horses emails admonishing them for cancelling and telling them what a bad decision they have made for their horse. I am really disappointed to see this from one of the companies I have used the most during my horse’s life. They can do better.
Bought an ultimate turnout blanket and used it 5 times then the snap on the chest broke. Can't fix it myself because it's sewn in. Talked to customer service and they said they would send a replacement. It's been a few weeks. Still don't have it. This blanket was over $200 and supposedly has a 10 year warranty.
I finally went to get myself a really nice saddle pad and my new yearling a blanket for the winter. I went and checked out with PayPal, because come on it's just easier. It auto populates all the fields for you. No having to type on my small phone. No I don't have a computed, my kids do but I don't. We'll somehow smart pak auto filled with a different address then what's in my PayPal. My only guess is somehow the system linked my email email used in my PayPal l with a house I lived at over 4 yrs ago. iDK this should not have happened. I did not login to smart pak so not really sure how they did that. Needless to say smart pak did try to redirect package after it was delivered and said it would be an additional $20 if it was pick up. Nope they charged me that anyway. Now I am out close to $500 for items I do not have and smart pak doesn't seem to even care. No resolution in sight. I have a claim filed with PayPal so hopefully that will resolve things. Idk. They definitely Have given me the we don't care, you are just screwed. Will never shop with them again
I have depended on SmartPak for my horses' supplements for over 20 years. The SmartPaks make providing his supplements a breeze. When I need to make any changes or have a question about what might be best to add to the list, the staff are always knowledgeable and helpful. If there's ever a problem, it's solved quickly and with good cheer - and problems are rare. Most of them are riders, themselves, and we often share horse stories as well as information. The ColiCare Insurance is a terrific bonus. Recently, I also started buying riding clothes from their Piper line. There isn't a more comfortable breech on the market - great fit, the perfect amount of stretch and pockets, pockets, pockets!!! I only wish all companies had such high quality products and were so delightful to deal with!
SmartPak has some of the best customer service around! Seriously, they are well known for their great customer service and I have experienced it! They have always been helpful in the past and respond quickly when needed. I just had another great experience with them today. I ordered a blanket after a lot of research and consideration and then the next day got an email that they had cancelled my order because what I bought went out of stock before they could fulfill it. I was super frustrated and disappointed and contacted customer service thinking maybe they could offer me a small coupon or something. They ended up sending me a new blanket, at a more expensive price point for the price I originally paid. The customer service agent spent a ton of time with me sending me options and making sure I was happy. I was just absolutely floored with how helpful and generous they were. If you are needing horse supplies, please go with Smartpak! Great quality items and amazing customer service!!!
