I thought the help was great. I called the lady walked me through everything. My copay was $600 . The lady walk me through all I needed and now my copay is $10 . I think the insurance copay’s are really totally out ridiculous. We already pay high insurance costs as it is . The Smith Rx made it where I could afford it. I really appreciate the Smith RX .
They have denied all specialty medications, including some of my co-workers. I wouldn't have been prescribed them if other medications worked. When attempting a pre-auth they sent a denial to my doctor, then when the doctor's team attempted to get patient assistance, because SmithRx denied I am not eligible. However, when asked they stated if excluded it should go through an assistance. It did not because the assistance programs refuse to do SmithRx patients as I was told they deny/exclude all specialty medications leaving the cost to the medication company's assistance programs, the assistance programs will not work with them. Without medications now, go onto antibiotics more often the is good for me, and now considering steroid shots to manage. Already made the HR aware of the issues with this company and have recommended based on my and other employees experience that they be discontinued as soon as possible. Will they? Don't know but may have to seek a new position after 6 years profiting for them just for medication coverage for my needs.
I am giving one star for one reason only. For the simple fact that they do for some drugs provide discounts. They don’t know what drugs they are…. You will have to do all the leg work and research your self to find out what they will cover at a zero copay. But they do cover SOME. I am a type 2 diabetic and was prescribed Mounjaro in addition to other medications. They of course had my doctor fill out a prior authorization. Then denied it anyway. They think they know my body and my conditions (there are multiple underlying conditions prior to and complicating the type two diabetes) so now I’m forced to drink LIQUID metformin because my plan doesn’t cover tablets. Gross. I don’t get it. I’m not an infant. And I’m now stuck paying 880.88$ per month out of pocket for the lowest dose of Mounjaro. I will be dropping this insurance as soon as open enrollment comes around as they literally have don’t nothing to help
From the moment we decided to make the switch to Smith RX to now, everyone has been extremely responsive and very helpful. I love the business model for Smith because what they do is different from the typical Prescription Benefit Manager. They are always looking for ways for both the employee and employer to save money and have a very easy experience. We have saved a tremendous amount of money as a company, by using Smith. Our employees are saving money and very happy with the services also!
