Solv recently replaced my old oil boiler with a new gas system, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the initial consultation to the final installation, everything was handled professionally and efficiently.Colm was great to deal with throughout — clear communication, honest advice, and always quick to respond. On the day of the install, Gareth and Blaine were excellent: punctual, tidy, and clearly skilled at what they do. I've been with SOLV for donkey's years - well over 10 years. They've not only replaced my gas boiler and serviced it annually, but they've also done quite a bit of electrical work in the house too. Their engineers are polite, friendly and helpful (shout out to Stuart George) and show up on time. Can't speak more highly of the SOLV team (they really feel like a team).
My boiler was provided and installed by SOLV 9 years ago and has been serviced by them annually. On this occasion I had noticed no problems but an issue arose during service which necessitated immediate shutdown and significant repair and replacement of a fan. Problem was resolved eventually when a new fan was sourced after several days.In the meantime it was pointed out to me that the external fitting of the flue was incorrect leading to severe corrosion of exposed metal. This had to be replaced.This flue has been in this state for a long time and I am disappointed that it was not noticed by SOLV engineers at earlier visits, including servicing before the boiler was replaced 9 years ago. It could have failed at any time. ☹️
