Lack of Communication, still no refund

Until this year, I would have given Starfury a full five stars. Until this year, I’ve never had an issue with the company, the conventions, the guests, the staff or the attendee’s. I trusted them. This year however that trust has been breached.On the 28th of August 2023 I treated myself to a Gold ticket to Starfurys Ultimates Amalgam. No guests announced but they usually get some fun ones and I trusted them not to fail us this time. In 2024, Sean announced that, due to another convention company running a convention the same weekend, the guests weren’t available and it was being postponed to 2025. We could refund or postpone. I opted to postpone. A few weeks before the event (April 11th-13th) in 2025, March 19th, it was cancelled. An announcement was put on the facebook page, and X and an email sent out, saying we could swap our tickets to another event or get a refund. An email would be sent in a few days to tell us how to do this. Fine. But this was where the problems started. I never received an email. I emailed Starfury as advised on the website. No answer. I emailed two weeks later as I received no reply. In all I have emailed 4 times and emailed Sean as well, each garnering no response. Polite emails just requesting a refund or what to do to obtain one. Nothing. (Dates of all correspondence can be proven)On 25th of June Sean put an update on the facebook page, saying sorry for the delay, he had a lot going on. Over two months after the event had been cancelled. This one stated the ‘remaining’ refunds would be processed at the beginning of July. It’s now the 17th of July. I still haven’t got a refund for my Gold ticket. I could really do with the money because it was over £200 and taking 4 months to refund the face price of a ticket from a cancelled event is not good enough. It’s really not. It looks bad. It saddens me to say I’m not sure* I trust Starfury with my money again after so many years of enjoying these events.July 23rd - Still no communication or refund.July 26th - Still no communication or refund.July 31st - Still no communication or refund.August 9th - Still no communication or refund.August 13th - Still waiting for any kind of communication, No refund in sight.August 20th - Still nothing. Won’t answer emails or comment online and is removing people’s fb posts about it.*should read I will never trust.Utterly disgraceful customer service.

Utterly disappointed

Great line up for guests. However, staff were rude, the whole event was very poorly organised and it has put me off wanting to attend another starfury event. The staff were not helpful, seemed too stressed and there was no clear system for what was happening for events and the schedule. Overall very disappointed

Who are you?

Why does Starfury not publish the name and contact details of the legal entity who organises the events. Is it a sole trader, limited company, partnership, etc? Most reputable businesses and organisations publish details of the operating organisation on their website on an “about us” or “contact” page. Starfury have only an “anonymous” email address and in no way identify who you are about to spend or transfer money to, let alone the organisation or legal body that hold insurance for public events and or future liability. I for one am very wary about trading with an unknown entity whatever shape or form it is. It is far too risky for me to even consider. It could be a genuine oversight, if so I suggest they take note of best practice and update their details on their website and all social media, as opposed to remaining anonymous with all of the negative connotations that it implies. General safety advice: please beware of anyone / social media / website trading or taking money anonymously. Worst case anonymous trading could be fraudulent leading to loss of money or theft of personally identifiable information that could be used for identity theft, fraud, or worse.

The best Conventions ever!

My sister and me have been going to Starfury Crossroads Conventions since number 3. We love it. The staff are always friendly and helpful and being disabled we find that this is the most accessible Conventions I've been to. The guests always love coming as it's smaller and never filmed. They can relax. The results are funny. We've just come back from Crossroads 9 and have already booked for 10, with no guest announcements yet!Please keep going as long as the guests want to come. Can't wait to meet Jared as we've not met him yet. If you are not sure about coming, then do it.

CROSSROAD 9 was my first time at a Starfury Convention and I really did enjoy it. Everyone was so friendly and the guests were amazing. It was just great. Can't wait for the next one ❤️

Great experience. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it was run, it's value for money and it's more personal touch compared to other cons. This really is head and shoulders above all others

Highly recommend Starfury events

This is my 6th time attending this event and it was wonderful as ever!! The staff, volunteers and fans are the BEST!! Love the cast and all the different activities were so fun: photos, autos, fan meets, meet & greets, costume event etc. Highly recommend!!
