Review Time
I've done a few consulting calls with them, but I'd recommend avoiding them. They waste your time over petty dollar amounts, and it's not worth the trouble.
Firstly, they refuse to filter offerings based on a minimum rate I set. I was going to stop responding to their opportunities for this reason anyway.
Second, they just sent me a check for 45 minutes instead of the full hour. It's true that the client was satisfied with the results of only 45 minutes of consulting; but I still had to set aside the full hour and go through the various prep work of filling out their forms and finding room on my schedule.
So if you are going to take work with them, remember not to get to the point too quickly, since they'll dock you for being succinct.

A Consistently Disappointing Experience — Experts BewareI’ve engaged with Tegus multiple times over the past few years, and unfortunately the experience has been consistently poor. Each time, I’ve gone through their full process, detailed written responses to client questions, completion of compliance forms, and confirmation of availability — only for the “project” to be abruptly cancelled with a vague note that “client priorities have shifted.” Not once has this resulted in a compensated call. It’s difficult not to conclude that Tegus systematically collects expert insights upfront under the guise of client preparation, without fair remuneration. This pattern erodes trust and undermines the integrity of their so-called expert network.Professionals considering working with Tegus should proceed with caution. There are far more transparent and reputable expert networks that genuinely value your time and expertise.
Horrible business model. You do a consultancy, they record it and keep it on file. You get paid once, they keep reselling it. You don't get anything after the first. Don't fall for this scam. For anybody trying to use this as a customer for information: only idiots would subscribe to this as a consultant, so don't expect any meaningful results
Quick Summary: Do not engage with any of these 'expert' network companies that make unsolicited contact. What happened: This is an incredibly well orchestrated scam. They promise to pay $400/hour for a call. Then require I spend about 30 minutes providing personal info like SS#, bank account numbers, and address. Then they cancel the call, pay nothing, and have all the 'expert's' personal information that can easily be used for identity theft. Brilliant way to get intimate personal details. I don't usually get scammed but ended up kissing the frog this time.I hope this helps other people avoid the same trap.
Do not consult for this company. If a client cancels a call, they will not pay you. Even if you have been on the line waiting for the client to join for 15 minutes. This happened to me multiple times and they refused payment when I asked to be paid. This is not in line with other companies in the space who will pay when a client cancels without proper notice.
My experience they are rather unprofessional and intransparent. I was asked to give a consultancy for one of their customers. The appointment was scheduled for 1 hour, but was changed 3 times at the very last minute while I wasted my time waiting in front of my computer for the meeting to take place. The meeting only took place on the 4th time and their customer showed up 5 min late to the meeting. When I received the payment email, it was stated that I would only receive half the amount we agreed on for an hour. They had failed to inform me that even though scheduled for an hour, the actual payment is counted by the minutes and their customer ended the call shortly after the count of 30th min. When I asked about the rest of the agreed fee, I was told that they apologize if it was unclear prior to the call that they pay only for the time spent in the call. This means that I blocked a total of 4 hours in my calendar due to multiple last minute reschedulings, but ended up being remunerated for half an hour.
