What's interesting about this business model is that Thrift say they only accept certain brands from the recycling public. Yet you see those same brands being sold extensively by them. Their FAQs state that there is a reason for this that they also get items sent direct from the suppliers. So how come they are selling some of those items as less than perfect condition 'showing signs of wear'?? I personally find that confusing. I would contact them for an explanation, but their contact us function is unhelpful to say the least.
Steer clear of this service at all costs. You’re much better off selling your items on platforms like similar options or donating them to a local charity shop that will genuinely resell them and support a good cause, rather than disposing of items unnecessarily. The company took over three months to process my bags and was extremely unresponsive when I inquired about items that allegedly failed their “hygiene checks.” Out of numerous beaded items in good to nearly new condition, they accepted only two, which is ridiculous. They did not provide any real evidence of the claimed hygiene issues. The images sent as proof showed no stains, discoloration, or hygiene marks—just normal variations from storage or vintage wear (which should be expected). The lack of transparency makes this service feel very close to a scam. It’s a waste of time and incredibly disappointing.
I received new clothes with tags that I never wore, but they were marked with hygiene labels and labeled as recycled. This occurred right after I sent a complaint email regarding the lengthy process; instead of the advertised three weeks, it's now taking over two months to check my bag. It feels like they either lost my bag or are retaliating. Honestly, it's more worthwhile to donate to a local charity shop. I'm very frustrated with this experience. Be cautious!
There’s a wide variety available at incredibly low prices. It’s a wonderful way to find what you need for much less. The delivery is quick and efficient, and the product quality is excellent. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to positively impact the environment, which I truly appreciate.
Disappointing selling experience. It's been four months since my items were listed, and I still haven't received any earnings. I'm doubtful I'll recoup the money I spent on the bag. The items were listed far too low, despite being designer and in excellent condition. I wouldn't recommend selling items here.
A complete disappointment. I won't sell here again. After weeks of waiting, my unworn designer items—one still tagged—were deemed 'not fit for resale' and kept for 'recycling.' I will stick to other platforms and my local charity shop from now on.
They offer a fabulous collection of pre-loved stylish clothing and accessories. I've often found items that are brand new, with tags still on—ranging from designer to high street. The website is easy to navigate, and the entire process, including returns (which I rarely need), is hassle-free.
