Shocking! Stay clear of this company. Unless you have money to spare, you’ll be left stranded. False promises, poor levels of support - £500 pcm for monthly support and you get one 1:1 a month!!! This is on top of £10,000 that they say they’ll refund if you’re not totally satisfied (such a terrible course). It sounds fantastic doesn’t it, but after taking your money, if you log in and start the course, you’ve lost the right for a refund. Funny that! It’s not a course it’s just people talking about how they’ve done it. All this information can be found on short YouTube videos. Some of the course content is so out of date, it’s laughable. The property market in 2023 isn’t the same as 2025!! Would you expect out of date content in a professional course for £10k? So unprofessional. Success of building a portfolio is highly exaggerated with profit outcomes far beyond reach for those that don’t have pots of cash to get started with. We wanted to buy a £80,000 property to do up and flip with an investor but it wasn’t worth doing in the end as they’re not honest about money to get started. They tell you that you can get started with no experience and no personal investment. When you get into it, they start backing out of supporting you with certain strategies when they realise you can’t! No I can’t sell my house and move into another to make a profit that way. No I can’t remortgage my house, put my monthly expenditure in the red to buy another property. No I can’t buy a house with cash at an auction, no I can’t find a rental house to rent out when all the houses in my area are selling up as the uk holiday market has taken a nosedive in our county. No I can’t borrow money off family/friends!!! They promise you an investor but then back out. They promise you a black book of contacts, that never materialises. They promise you they’ll show you how and once they’ve got your money, no contact from a coach (you get 1 chat a month). So misleading.
Unless you have money to throw in and start building a portfolio walk away. They can’t help you and will just try and direct you into strategies which basically make you an estate agent which require tons of work or put your own house at risk. If you already work, forget it, it’s going to take you so much time as you have to do all the work yourself. They couldn’t even provide a spreadsheet with formulas and functions that worked correctly when looking at profit calculations and when asking a coach, she didn’t know how to do it and said just write it on a piece of paper! Not fit for purpose. Customer service is terrible and they communicate as much as they can via Zoom so there is no paper record of what they’ve promised. How they can sleep at night by taking your money and not providing the service they describe at sign up is beyond me.

I wanted to share my experience with Touchstone Academy to help others avoid the same mistakes I made.

I was drawn in by a slick Instagram ad and signed up for a free seminar, which led to a weekend "intensive" course for £99. The energy was high, and the sales pitch was convincing. I was told that if I didn’t double my investment in a year, I could get my money back. Sounds good, right? But here's where things went south.

Once I paid £9995 upfront + £495 monthly, the reality hit. There was no 1-on-1 coaching as promised, just a faceless operations team that only communicated via email. I soon realised that the so-called "refund policy" was a total scam, designed to make sure you never actually get your money back. The terms were so complicated that it felt impossible to claim a refund.

After 12 days of confusion and stress, I had to dig deep to find a solution. I turned to my bank and filed a Section 75 claim for mis-selling, citing the evidence of their broken promises. The bank was able to recover most of my money, and I also used a chargeback to recover the rest.

The process wasn’t easy, and Touchstone tried to fight back, but Section 75 is a legal right, and I was able to get my money back. Be aware: Touchstone will continue to try to take your monthly payments, even after you cancel. I had to cancel the continuous £495 payments in writing, and they’re still trying to take money from me. I had to contact my bank again and request cancellation of the continuous payment authority . They blocked Touchstone from taking any more payments. Touchstone are STILL trying to take money though. Thank goodness for the protection of my banks (I paid on more than one card).

This experience was deeply disappointing, and I felt like I was deceived every step of the way. However, if you're in a similar situation, I want to pass on the advice I got from another reviewer: If you were mis-sold, use a Section 75 claim. It’s your legal right, and you can also pursue chargebacks if needed. Don’t let them get away with it.

I’m sharing this to help others who might be in the same desperate situation I was in. Please, don’t be swayed by the hype and slick sales techniques. Do your research, and know your rights.

UPDATE AFTER TOUCHSTONE REPLY- ADDRESSING ME AS MALCOM

My name is not Malcolm but I'm glad Malcolm claimed on a Section 75 too. Well done Malcolm! Conscious TS will change their reply now but amused me anyway.
I did attend an "onboarding" session and it was a joke. Other new starters were on this call that I expected to be a serious 1-2-1 meeting about my goals and a chance to be matched with a coach. The onboarding session was a delaying tactic to get me over the 14 day cooling off period when my rights would be reduced. However, a Section 75 is there to PROTECT you from dubious remote selling techniques like this. Section 75 was created to protect the vulnerable from companies like Touchstone.
My message is the same - fight for your money back via your bank. Get Touchstone's name out there as a con. Keep the 1 star reviews coming to inform others. Peace out.

Fantastic first 121 with Indy! He focused on our mindset and made us think about our whys so that we could then think about our goals. We came away with a much clearer picture of our strategy as well as feeling inspired and motivated!

Absolutely loved our first meeting with Mel as a husband and wife team. She instantly made us feel relaxed, listened to both of our ideas and treated us like people, not just “clients”.

In just one zoom call she helped us secure clarity on our goals, our numbers and a choice of strategies that actually suits our family, finances and lifestyle. We came away completely on the same page, with a simple, realistic plan we both feel confident about.

Mel has that rare mix of real expertise and genuine kindness, she encouraged us, challenged our thinking in a supportive way and left us very excited to take our next steps together.

As a couple starting out in property, we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better mentor. Five stars from both of us.

Dear Touchstone,

I am writing to provide a positive review for Nicky Budworth and Kate Francis from Touchstone, who recently assisted me.

Both individuals provided exceptional service, and I was incredibly impressed with their work. They were particularly helpful regarding flipping and lease options, as well as providing valuable advice on mortgage advisers.

Please pass along my thanks to them for their hard work and professionalism.

Best regards,

Sue Holden

The 1 hour session on GOAL SETTING is solid gold. Probably one of the best 60 minutes I’ve spent since joining.

Being part of The Wealth Academy has helped me learn and understand so much when it comes to being an investor. The courses, the Q and A calls each week, the 1-1’s with experienced coaches and exclusive content from Paul, Aniko and much much more.

A massive thank you Indy and Touchstone Education for everything you do.
