Review Time
I first wrote this review after a highly stressful afternoon of the app not working with me taking the assessment the following day. I had wanted to run through the class a couple of times as I had a busy working day and little/no time to run through during the day before videoing my assessment in the evening. I have now been through and edited as I did have a very helpful conversation, however I did not want to remove it completely as I think it is important for anyone searching for reviews to have balanced reviews of experiences.Throughout the course things are mentioned that it turns out are not available to me. I am on the distance learning option, it talked about signing up for a day to do in place of 20 hours practicum, this is not an option, the paperwork then mentions a DVD, this is also no longer an option. You can't sign up for an in person assessment. You have to use jump fx and blast fx for the assessment video, I thought I would have the opportunity to fully plan an ETM session but you have to adapt what they have done instead, there is ridiculous choreo that I would never include in a first class as it requires such incredible agility and fitness that new participants would be immediately put off. I have adapted as they recommend and hope that it will achievable for my participants. I am prepared to adapt further on the spot if it is needed. Perhaps this is my own fault though for not doing enough research before hand, there are videos on youtube which I recommend watching before signing up.I have found the app problematic throughout and just over the weekend ahead of me videoing my assessment on the Monday the app stopped working. You have to be logged in to be able to access the music. It is not possible to download the music to your phone so that you can access it without the app, it is also not available from a computer. This caused a lot of stress as I thought I was going to have to cancel the recording and then rearrange for a space to complete the assessment and find 6 people who would be able and willing to take part. I also had problems back in March when I was ready to complete my final online theory assessment but the most recent android update had caused an issue with the app (apparently this was an issue with multiple apps, not just Train Fitness) which then took 2 days to fix. So, having been ready to take the assessment, due to having to use the app to take the assessment and there not being any other options, I had to wait to take it. This is not ideal when completing distance learning and trying to fit it all around a job and other demands of life. You expect to be able to complete tasks during planned time.I did have a phonecall today after I reported the issues, they were interested to get some feedback from me and to pass it to the developers and then I had a great chat with Steel (sp?) about my assessment ahead of recording. I was concerned that if I wasn't able to record that I would miss my deadline for the course but he has provided reassurance with this area. I also took the opportunity to highlight to them some of things that annoyed me in the learning theory part of the course. There are multiple grammar/spelling issues throughout the learning which I found jarring and had to reread sentences/paragraphs and, worse yet, full paragraphs of text are repeated in images. You then reread the same information in case there are any differences (there weren't). The proof reading left a lot to be desired!Positives:-Distance learning allows learning at your own pace and to fit around your life.-Helpful customer service on occasions when I have spoken with them.-Assessments are taken at home in your own time and there are practice tests available for you so you only take the assessment when you are ready.-They were interested in feedback rather than being dismissive which is positive.Negatives:-Statements about options available to you aren't actually available any longer but the information hasn't been updated to reflect this.-Grammatical/spelling errors.-The choreography that you need to base your lesson on is very intense and while you are expected to make adjustments it does not feel like the sort of class you want to be filming for the first time your attendees are taking part in it. (Incidentally there are also several errors throughout the provided choreography notes with incorrect reps and incorrect number of repeats of a set of exercises).-App is unreliable-You have to watch the videos for the choreography on your phone as it is not available on the web based login which is pretty frustrating. -You are only able to download the music to the app, not anywhere else which means if the app isn't working you can't access the music.
I’m currently taking the PT Specialist Diploma in Women’s Health (In-Person) and the experience has exceeded expectations. The in-person sessions are engaging and enjoyable, and the online material is very detailed— a resource I’ll continue using long after the course ends. Ben (the main instructor) is a fantastic coach and teacher, and the support from the learner success team has been outstanding over the phone. While my Level 2 course experience wasn’t as strong as the Level 3 due to a different instructor (Ben only joined at the end), I believe that was an exception rather than the norm. This is the only reason this isn't a 5-star review!I’d highly recommend the in-person option with Train Fitness to anyone considering a PT qualification.
Our instructor made it an informative, interesting and even fun at times 2 weeks. The course was delivered with enthusiasm, everything we needed to know and do was explained in detail that wasn't overly complex and easy to implement. My confidence in myself wasn't very high going into the courses, I was very unsure how I would get on but I was worrying unnecessarily. I have enjoyed the courses and would thoroughly recommend them.
I recently completed an Exercise to Music course with TrainFitness as a remote learner, and unfortunately, my experience was largely negative due to poor customer service and unresolved technical problems. The main issue I encountered was with their learner support, specifically a team member named Radek. Every single time I called for assistance, I was connected to him only. I found his manner to be consistently rude, blunt, dismissive, and unsympathetic. As someone who is head of customer relations as a job title myself, I was genuinely shocked by how I was spoken to – it’s simply not acceptable.I also experienced significant problems with their app, which at one point completely logged me out and displayed a message saying I had no courses assigned. This happened outside of office hours, during a time I had specifically set aside (5 hours) to rehearse. I sent screen recordings showing the issue via email to their complaints department, but the only response I received was a one-week extension, which was not sufficient considering my demanding 50-hour work week. I was also told there had been no system issues that evening and TrainFitness began to blame this on signal issues however the attempts to log in were done on a mobile phone and laptop with Wifi and without, meanwhile still showing the message 'you have no courses available' – despite the clear video evidence I had submitted. To make matters worse, the same technical issue occurred again during my final practical video assessment – the app logged me out mid-routine, and I had to complete my final track in silence, without access to their music. While it didn’t affect my mark, it added a huge amount of unnecessary stress, and once again, no apology was offered. From my experience and reading other reviews, TrainFitness seems far more interested in deflecting responsibility than genuinely supporting learners. This review is here to share my personal experience and hopefully provide some insight for anyone considering their courses.
I’ve completed both Level 2 and Level 3 with TrainFitness, and honestly, it was the best experience ever! I felt supported and motivated the entire way through. But what really made it special were the people especially Ben, our instructor. He was absolutely fantastic. Kind, patient, always positive and supportive. English is not my first language, so sometimes I struggled with some terms, but Ben always made sure I understood everything. He took the time to explain things clearly and never made me feel uncomfortable. Such a sweet and polite person! Also, a big thank you to Rosse, She’s so helpful and kind always there with a smile and encouragement. You can really feel how dedicated the trainers are and how much they want to see you succeed. The atmosphere was full of good vibes, energy, and support. I actually cried for two days after finishing because I missed it so much. I’ve learned so much about fitness, nutrition, gym instructing, and becoming a personal trainer. If you’re thinking about doing this course, don’t hesitate the team at TrainFitness is amazing and will make your journey so enjoyable and rewarding!
I have just completed the 11 days practical and assesment for the level 2 Gym Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer Course. The instructor was fantastic in his knowledge, presentation, structure and care in making sure that everyone knew the content etc.
Recently finished the Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification, and the entire experience was incredible. The course is very well structured and really easy to follow, especially if you have a tutor like I had… Ben. As someone whose confidence has been rock bottom for some time, Ben made me feel welcome and looked after us all as though we were a big family. Giving us all the support imaginable and making our learning experience so fun and enjoyable, every day his energy was infectious. My confidence grew tenfold during this experience, and felt like I learned even more than what I was supposed to because of Ben’s wisdom. The assessor’s were all lovely too and full of knowledge to help you grow. My entire experience with Train Fitness has been first class and if you’re thinking of taking the jump into this industry this company is the one for you, oozing class from top to bottom… a perfect starting point to set you up for a long successful career!
I am so glad I chose TRAINFITNESS as my course provider. From the initial enquiry about the course, to learning face to face, I have felt supported, understood and encouraged by all members of staff. Ben was an incredible teacher who made the experience what it was. As a team, they are efficient, informative and super-friendly. I learnt so much and feel armed with confidence and excitement approaching the industry. You feel like your own individual learning with them, they really look after you. The work itself is detailed and specific, so there is graft to be put in, which is what is exactly needed going into the industry.
