This complaint concerns booking HJGC2TDW.
This was an international flight booking for a Vietnamese passport holder. A fully English e-ticket / flight confirmation is mandatory for immigration clearance and boarding.
From the very beginning, I repeatedly and urgently requested Travala to provide a pure English version of the e-ticket confirmation, clearly stating that:
• The passenger is Vietnamese
• Immigration authorities require English documentation
• Departure date was very close (12 February)
However, despite multiple follow-ups over several days, Travala continuously sent Chinese-only confirmations and failed to provide the English version in time.
Travala only provided the English e-ticket on 9 February, after several days of repeated urgent requests.
By that time, due to the high risk of being denied boarding or immigration clearance, I had no choice but to rebook the same flight on another platform, resulting in duplicate payment for the same journey.
This cancellation was not voluntary.
It was directly caused by Travala’s failure to provide mandatory English documentation in a timely manner.
Despite this, Travala now claims the cancellation is “voluntary” and refuses to refund the ticket fare, only offering tax refunds or extremely delayed processing of up to 90 days, which is completely unacceptable.
I hereby formally demand:
1. Full refund of the ticket fare
2. Refund to be processed within 7 working days
3. Not tax-only refund
4. No 90-day delay
If this issue is not resolved fairly and promptly, I will escalate this case through:
• Trustpilot
• Consumer protection authorities
• Payment dispute channels
• Public exposure on major platforms
Travala’s handling of this matter has caused serious financial loss, stress, and travel disruption. I strongly advise travelers to exercise extreme caution when booking through this platform.
As a long-time customer, my past experiences were generally positive. Previously, the support team effectively handled issues, even complex ones. Unfortunately, a recent incident revealed a serious decline in how the company manages customer protection, particularly regarding airlines. A minor name discrepancy on a ticket led to the company suggesting I purchase a new ticket at a higher cost, while the original ticket would be submitted for a potential refund without guarantees or clear timelines. This approach transfers all financial risk to the customer, relying solely on trust for a possible refund. It's hard to believe such refunds will be processed fully. A professional travel platform should provide reasonable protections for its customers, but in this case, there was none, leaving me vulnerable to an unreasonable outcome for a minor error. I share this as a warning: even a small name mistake can force you to buy a new flight, with insufficient consumer protection. This experience shows the service no longer meets its previous standards.
I discovered today that bookings are handled via third-party services like others. Honestly, as a silver customer, I expected better pricing, but the hotel was €240 through one service (without breakfast), while I ended up paying a discounted €280. My earlier booking on the wrong date included breakfast, but now that's not an option. I guess I’ll need to compare all services for the best deal. Thanks, but no thanks.
The platform is fantastic, especially for crypto users. HOWEVER, don't be misled by their TravelSmart Protection! I paid for it under the impression it would cover cancellations, especially for medical reasons. It turned out to be a waste of money, as my general insurance covers what their protection claims to offer. *I will update this review as necessary.
