I visited the passport mega center in Atlanta with my husband to assist him in obtaining a new passport, and I must say, it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. An employee was extremely rude from the start, displaying a dismissive and unprofessional attitude. During our interaction, she laughed at me, and I felt her behavior was directed at me for wearing a scarf. I was only translating for my husband, who doesn't speak English, yet we were treated with disrespect. Her curt responses made the situation uncomfortable. No customer deserves to be treated this way, and I hope management addresses this issue, as her behavior was unacceptable.
This is absolutely unacceptable. There are false accusations against various countries, labeling Iran as 'dangerous' simply due to political conflicts. There seems to be a bias against all Asian countries, discouraging tourists from visiting Iran. As someone from the UK who visited Iran without knowing the language, I found the people there to be polite and welcoming. The issue lies not with Iran, but with the misconceptions held by some Americans.
The embassy in Croatia exemplifies government waste, serving no real diplomatic purpose while employing many local nationals whose loyalty lies with Croatia rather than the United States. Why are American taxpayers funding this? Basic services like consular assistance are mired in indifference. A local staff member seems to dominate the communication, and it's disheartening to hear a non-American voice when reaching out for help. American citizens are treated with disregard, and the interim consular chief displays a lack of interest in assisting them. This embassy should be downsized significantly, maintaining only essential personnel for emergencies, as it currently represents a financial drain rather than a valuable mission.
