I wanted to get another cat, filled out all the forms but because there is a main road not far from where I live although it's two streets away and over a brook. I live in a dead end road with lots of cats in the neibourhood yet still refused. It's ridiculous ruling for people that generally want to give a cat a nice home yet they make decisions and never even visited the area or property. They make it difficult, so I'll get a cat elsewhere! Don't waist your time
My issues with this “cat shelter” echo previous reviews. The owner is belittling and has arbitrary reasons for not allowing cats / kittens to be re-homed. Since being rejected by June we have welcomed two very well loved and well looked after kittens who are thriving. Unless you pass her subjective tests - you’ve got no luck. However, most recently I have been disgusted to hear comments made by this individual regarding rehoming cats to houses with children. She has been discriminatory towards children with recognised disabilities, calling children with autism “unruly”, and saying it is a label used by bad parents.P.s also says some women shouldn’t have children… all over their Facebook! Disgusting.
If you want a cat or a kitten, please don't go to a breeder.Travis cat rescue has the cutest, most well cared for cats who have bundles of love waiting to give you. Every cat is so well cared for, now all they need is a forever home.I fell in love with so many of the cats there.
What can I say about this rescue? Fantastic! The cats and kittens are all so well taken care of. June puts them and their welfare first and foremost. Such a knowledgeable lady and offers her advice readily. She knows every little cat and kitten in her care so she can place them in the right homes to ensure successful adoptions. The accommodation is very well maintained and dedicated volunteers who give their time to help clean and care for, as well as socialiise the cats, are testament to how much care is given to every aspect of this amazing rescue. June has strict rehoming rules, like big homing on or near busy roads or railway lines, but that is how it should be! So much time, care and love goes into rescuing and rehoming these cats and kittens, it makes perfect sense to be selective about where they go on to live. It’s one of the MANY reasons I’ve adopted from Travis. If you are serious about animal welfare, and want to ensure you adopt a health cat or kitten, this rescue is where you should go to find a new kitty companion. Five stars easily deserved!!
Without a doubt, the BEST cat rescue you’ll find. June and her team of loyal volunteers could not do more for the cats and kittens in their care. June is extremely knowledgeable and has decades of experience in cats and their welfare. I’m a very experienced cat person too, and June never ceases to amaze me with her knowledge and never ending dedication. This rescue puts the needs of the cats and kittens first and foremost, just as it should be. This isn’t a large rescue where money has tainted their purpose, unlike some I could mention. If you want to adopt or support a cat rescue, this is the one where you know the cats come first and your support will be truly appreciated.
Travis is a well kept, clean environment for the cats. They are all looked after so well and it shows with them. June herself is a lovely person, she loves her cats and loves what she does. The woman deserves a medal to be honest. One thing June is passionate about are the cats she has, they have ended up in there and no fault of theirs. Yes June will not house any cat in an area or living area where the cats are at risk or will be unhappy. This is one thing I for one appreciate as I know the cats will get a home they will be happy in. For those people that leave bad feed back, think why! Well done June for doing what you do
June thank you so much! I had to give up my cat for personal reasons and I couldn’t have taken her anywhere better than here! She’s a lovely lady with a massive heart. It’s a beautiful place and she showed me around all the cats and kittens 🐈⬛ she made me feel so welcome. You’ve reassured me that Minnie and her babies will go to amazing homes. I will be back to visit June. Thank you so so much XX
Following a loss in our family last year, myself and my partner are looking into getting a cat. We decided that we have what it takes to rehome and dedicate our time to a rescue cat.I messaged Travis Cat Rescue & spoke to a lady named June. I explained the reason we wanted to get a rescue cat & told her where we live etc (as requested).June was not only very rude, I also found her quite nasty & I was very upset by how she addressed my enquiry. She told us that she isn't happy to rehome a cat with us due to where we live, which IS fair enough. I told her that it was okay and I ended the conversation.June carried on messaging me about the enquiry even though I had accepted her initial response, and I actually felt she was judging us and our situation in a non-professional and nasty manner. June then BLOCKED me before I had a chance to answer her nasty message!I would not recommend talking to this organisation about rehoming a cat, unless you want to be judged and belittled. I'm not sure how she can look after cats, when she can't even be kind to human beings who want nothing more than to help & love a cat of their own!Deeply upset.
