I ordered fish sized 4-5 cm, but received ones under 2 cm instead, and I have photographic proof. The support team showed no interest in resolving the issue. Your response felt like grasping at straws; there was no swearing involved. You attempted to dismiss my concerns by offering pictures of fish in your tank with a tape measure, which is irrelevant since the ones I received are all under 28mm. I paid for fish sized 40-50mm, specifically choosing your service because of the advertised size. I've had to give them away for free since the smaller ones won't survive in my tank. This is false advertising!
This place has become my partner's and my favorite destination to satisfy our fish passion. The quality of fish and stock is consistently excellent, and the staff go above and beyond to help us find exactly what we need, even posting on social media to inform me about a betta I had my eye on and reserving it for me without knowing if I’d see the post. Their prices and rewards system are fantastic, and the plants have been the healthiest we've encountered (having shopped at various places). The staff always greet us warmly, show genuine interest in our plans, and we often leave with our arms full of items. The shop is family-friendly, with activities for kids and a cozy atmosphere that makes shopping with a toddler easy. They even sell drinks, making it a convenient one-stop shop, and the parking is conveniently located right outside. The variety of unique fish is impressive, and I can't recommend this place or its knowledgeable staff highly enough. It's my new go-to!
Visiting this beautiful shop for the first time was a delightful surprise. I thought I knew every aquatic store in the North East, but I stumbled upon this one. The setups for the fish are stunning and showcase them beautifully. I especially liked the Mbuna tank. Having kept tropical fish for 60 years, I was amazed to find species I had never seen before. This will be my new go-to shop.
Rating: 3/5. We recently placed an order over £200, including tetras and a royal pleco. Unfortunately, their condition upon arrival was concerning—the box was damaged, the tetras appeared stressed, and the pleco's bag was deflated with minimal water. While the pleco is doing okay now, we were initially worried about its health. Customer service was quick to respond and offered advice for settling the fish. However, when we requested a partial refund or a goodwill gesture, they declined, stating that since the fish arrived alive, no compensation was warranted. We understand that live fish shipments can be challenging, but a small gesture would have demonstrated care for customer satisfaction, especially given the order's value. Although we appreciate the assistance provided later, the initial experience was disappointing and may lead us to consider other suppliers for future purchases.
My kids are getting tired of my fish shopping, but they absolutely love this place. I visited today to buy fish, and the kids had a 'treasure hunt' activity, allowing me to focus on what I needed. The owner has truly mastered running this business—he's knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly, as are the other staff members. It's quite a journey for us to get here, but it's absolutely worth it for the extensive selection, cleanliness, and reasonable prices. This tropical shop is unlike any other pet (fish) store I've visited. Keep up the fantastic work! 👍🏽
I bought some new fish and sought advice regarding the safety of my current ones, but I encountered a dismissive attitude and incorrect information. It seems they lack knowledge about the species they sell, as the new fish ended up attacking my existing ones.
