Imagine hiring a company to move your aging mother on December 13th from her home. A home that all of her memories, treasures and pictures reside in, establishing a life well lived. Imagine this company delivering the items to her new home. A time in her life with so much change, after losing her husband of almost 50 years. The 3 men who moved her items, scratched several pieces of furniture, left her mirror swinging on her dresser and not attached with all the parts, broke her microwave and damaged the sliding glass door to her entry way. How did they break the door you ask? They rolled a heavy piece of furniture on a hand truck over it and cracked the frame. The movers took picture and told us the company would be in touch. In touch they were not. I had to reach out to the company. They had a handy man (not a company) come out to assess the damages. The handy man said he could fix the furniture and wanted to put epoxy on the door! Epoxy we asked?! We don't want a temporary fix to a permanent problem. It's a main point of exit/entry! We did not ask for this to happen. We did however accept his offer to fix the furniture. The furniture of which he just came back to get last week. Jonathan did not get back in touch with him until 2/13. Two months later! I contacted Jonathan Taylor at the Rolling Rd location in Baltimore, MD when the contractor came out. I explained the situation and told him while we were waiting for someone to respond to us about the damages, we had Lowes come out to give us a price for a new door. He agreed & stated that he would take care of it & asked me to send over the contract. He took Stephen's name from Lowes and was in contact with him several times. He was going to pay by credit card, then wanted to pay by check. He had me enter into the contract with Lowes and we were all set. Well, until the next day. He called me in the morning and stated that because the door was just over $3,000 he couldn't pay for it out of his location, he would have to submit a claim with Gallagher Basset. Myself, assuming he would advise them of the contract and we would receiving the check from them was ok for the moment. Then, Gallagher Bassett called. Candida the claim adj. took my information and said she would contact Jonathan. It took her several times and even had to reach out to her supervisor to get in touch with him. When she finally did, he told her his guy can fix it. So the adjuster emailed me to let me know what he stated. I am STILL waiting to hear back from her again because I told her JONATHAN had me enter into a contract and they don't just go away. He set me in this position and I trusted him. What about the contract with Lowes? I have heard nothing from either the ins. company or TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. I have a contract with Lowes who have already been out to measure the door after we signed- thanks to JONATHAN! I asked for the GM or the owner's contact info and nobody will give it to me. So please anyone who is interested in hiring Two Men and a Truck from 2709 Rolling Road ste 122 Baltimore, MD 21244, please don't. Jonathan doesn't care how he left your furniture or your house. He only cares about getting paid immediately. My elderly mother even gave the 3 men a nice tip for their work. We get everyone makes mistakes. But to not fix them and put your customers in a financial position and then leave them hanging? This is our experience and we will be sharing with everyone we know. Too bad, Two Men and a Truck, I had so much faith in you to handle my Mom's end of life move with compassion and professionalism. "Treat everyone like your Grandma" is your motto. I think this location forgot this or they hate their Grandma which is even worse.

Final invoice 33% higher than quote

Final invoice 33% higher than quote, with no delays or changes to the job. And gave the highest initial quote but promised it was thorough. Damaged furniture, broken glasses (no attention paid to the FRAGILE notes on boxes), reported damages with no response. Asked for a tip and for it to be in cash. Asked for beers when finished the job. Unprofessional.

Go with Another Company

After doing a virtual walk thru of everything I wanted to move, the sales rep gave me an estimated weight and a price of $5500 for the move and $1500-2000 to pack up my house. Told me if you want to save money pack as much of it as you can and we’ll pack what’s left. We packed up 90% of the house. There packers came to my house weeks later to finish and was there for 1.5 hours and charged me $850.00.After the move the price was $800 more than what was quoted to me because they said we were 3000# over the estimated weight price. I can see being off by 1000# but 3000#?When I contacted the “franchise manager” Chris of the Garner, NC office, he told me he would look into it. Waiting for his reply verbally never came. A week later I received an email from him basically saying “ tough shit” and he charged my credit card. The balance of the move with the additional $800. What better way to get your business. They give you the cheapest quote and charge you a deposit then after the move is done they tell you your weight is more than they said it was. That goes for the packing portion also. If they would have packed my entire 2300 sq ft house how do they come up with $1500-2000 quote? It would have taken them at least 4 more hours to pack the whole house and would have been much more than quoted. These guys under quote there prices to get your business. When they do the job the price is considerably higher. Go with someone else. What is the purpose of a virtual walk thru when it means nothing to the final bill? I knew it was an estimated weight but being off 3000# is unacceptable.

I just had the best experience moving…

I just had the best experience moving than I've ever had in 65 years! Christian and Baily were so incredibly fast and kind. They saved me so much money by having everything moved from my second story apt to my storage unit withing and hour and a half! No complaints out of their mouths like I've experienced with other companies. These two gentlemen are the best thing thats happened to me in months. Thank you so much for relieving a very stressful situation for me. When I move back they are my first call! Absolutely the best!!!!

beware, they will not return your claims calls

I tried many times to get a hold of someone in claims and they will not return my call. My floor was damaged when the movers dropped something heavy, and I've called many times. They keep saying someone in claims will call me back but it's been two months since I moved. Would not recommend. They also didn't pad or protect precious items I specifically asked them to. It was terrifying to watch them unload.

I would not recommend Two Men and a Truck. While the movers themselves were courteous and worked diligently, several members of the crew were vaping throughout the move, which was unprofessional. The greater concern, however, was with the office staff. The representatives who handled my booking were persuasive during the initial call, but once the arrangements were confirmed, the details and instructions changed without clear communication. The coordination from the office was poor and made the moving process far more stressful than necessary. Given this experience, I would not choose to use their services again.

If I could give a negative (-50)…

If I could give a negative (-50) review, I would. Their moving crew even tore a screen door off its frame. Dumped cat litter down the drain. Didn’t wrap expensive mirrors or nice furniture, as promised, and broke and tore up numerous items. Even chunks of wood taken out of expensive furniture. On top of that, I have missing jewelry. Then the crews office boss has the nerve to scream at me over the phone, literally yelling and not even allowing me to speak. I wasn’t going to listen to his verbal abuse and hung up. All of this on top of head of the 3 man moving crew approaching me and asking me to let them move me with a U-Haul because the company was going to charge me way too much to move me. One of them even telling me the company would bill me up to 22,000. That the company would add more cost onto their original quote and I would be stuck with paying it. On top of all of this, one of the moving crew must have been high on something and threatened to not deliver my furniture until I paid his ransom of 700.00. That’s when we had no option but to call the police. It was a total nightmare dealing with this company. Save yourself the headaches. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!
