Retailers, BEWARE: customers will experience major grief trying to purchase and ship gifts to loved ones if you use Square. Tried to send a favorite pastry to my elderly mom in another state. I'd done it via the same site a few months before--but now they use Square. I enter her address under shipping: fine. I enter my CC data: fine. I enter my email & phone for tracking updates: fine. I click to submit order and Square texts me a verification code: fine, I enter it and submit the order. BAM! The order's shipping address is immediately changed to my CC card's billing address--with my mom's name as the contact. No warning, no recourse and sadly, nobody on the phone, as the bakery is open only 1 day/week. I understand trust issues with a different billing and shipping address, but I've shopped that way for DECADES, at Office Depot, at Amazon, at Kroger, at Walgreens--anywhere I use my card for office purchases for my employer. Every time I send a Christmas gift, a baby shower gift, or in this case, a birthday gift.Regarding Square's reply: Thank you for replying, but I did try the transaction several ways on both a Macbook and a desktop PC. I manually entered the correct information and it remained without auto-populating from screen to screen, UNTIL I entered a verification code and then clicked through to submit the order. I'm pretty sure it's not a case of auto-populating. You might look into it. These are all measures I don't have to take with any other retail platforms I use online, so I can't help assuming that Square's coding is in play here somehow. It will make me more hesitant to complete orders using it. Just my honest experiential feedback. But I'll bump you up to 2 stars for caring enough to reply. Duly noted and appreciated.
So I had a square account and I was on the phone with a coustomer service agent and she cleared the balance on a gift card I was getting help with and so she told me the money would be going to the bank but I call today and they told me because I cleared the gift card that I won't be getting my money. So I guess this is how y'all make your money by stealing it from your coustomers. It was $250 dollars. They told me that I will not be getting compensated for my money. This place is rude and theives and liers. I'm a disabled and trying to survive and you guys want to steal from me. Fine pick on the handicap I hope karma bites you in the ass. I'll never use you guys again. Here's some advice don't steal and don't pick on the handicap.
Square was great for us for 2 years. They have helped us start our small business and we had great outcomes. All the sudden, they decided to shut down our system. We cant take any payments, or write up any other orders. We have called 7 people in customer service. They won't tell us why they shut us down, they wont say how to start us back up, and won't give us any support. They said "we have no idea" and just blew us off, and were "very sorry". Just like that, we have no way of processing payments. Big disappointment, we did a lot of great business with them.
