...this company will help you do it. US Filing and other "filing services" like it are scams. They try to look like official government entities and use pressure tactics like fines and late fees. Most state government websites have VERY user-friendly online forms and you can do it yourself in less than 10 minutes (ie, a statement of information) and it usually costs $20 per state. This company wanted to charge me $149 not including the state fee WITH THE EXACT SAME FORM. TOTAL rip-off. I despise companies that take advantage of people. Please, everyone; take the time to become digitally literate and scam-aware! They kept sending me emails until I clicked on the link and realized what they were up to.
One of the most clever companies out there, they are looking to market towards the uneducated new nervous business owners out there and apparently there is an enormous market full of them out wide they wouldn’t be in business. They basically tell you that they will perform a service for you at the bottom of the email they send you and that they are not affiliated with any government agency. They do carry out the service for you. So if you pay them it’s your fault. It takes you 5 minutes and 20-50$ to file yourself. This company is actually pretty clever because they tell you they will over charge you for the service that will provide, they look legit, but there basically telling you “if you give me 100$ plus the price of filing with your state, I will take your money and do it for you “ its not a scam if your stupid enough to pay for it. It’s capitalism at its finest.
