I am writing to formally complain about the service I received during my recent visit to your Vets for Pets practice in Chadwell Heath, where I brought my cat for a check-up.

This was my first time using your services, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing.

Before my appointment, a puppy was being examined in the consultation room. When I was called in, I immediately noticed that the examination table was wet and covered in dog hair. Even the vet had visible dog hair on his clothing. I was then asked to place my cat on the same surface.

This raised serious concerns about hygiene and cross-contamination.

Cats are particularly sensitive to stress, smells, and potential infections, and allowing one animal to be examined on a surface that had just been used by another animal without proper disinfection is both unprofessional and unsafe. There could easily have been fleas, ticks, bacteria, or disease transferred from the puppy to my cat.

A veterinary clinic is a medical environment and should follow strict hygiene standards between every patient. A simple wipe-down is not sufficient.

I was extremely concerned to see that no thorough cleaning or sanitising took place before my cat was examined.

To make matters worse, I paid £75 for this consultation and the prescribed medication. For this price, I expected a clean, safe, and professional service. Instead, I left feeling worried about my cat’s safety rather than reassured.

I would appreciate a full investigation into this matter, confirmation of your hygiene and cleaning procedures between patients, and an explanation of why these standards were not followed during my appointment. I also believe this warrants a review of the fee I was charged, given that the service provided fell well below acceptable standards.

I have had a Pet Plan with this vets for several years. Every time I visit the staff and vets are always friendly and efficient.
The plan has been the best decision as it has saved me a lot in the long run with free consultations and various discounts. I feel confident when I take my cat for check ups, vaccinations and on the odd occasion when he’s been poorly.

I don’t have much choice of going somewhere. that isn’t a million miles away and you would get s glowing 5 stars if you actually listened to me and didnt constantly change my dogs prescription loads of times ive told you my dog won’t take the tablets despite me hiding it in several blocks of cheese, my dog eats the cheese and leaves the flea and wormer untouched and broken on the floor, also resulting in my dog being unprotected, you never listen and its never the same vet every visit, hence why my dogs prescription changes so much. I absolutely hate the service but i cant go anywhere else so you win i lose

Personally I really like this vets. The reception team are friendly, helpful and very accommodating. I have been able to see a vet the same day on several occasions. They treat you very well, happy to give an indication of price beforehand and take a real care with your pets. The vets are all caring, go the extra mile and make you feel safe they know what they are doing.

The service at the O.K.R. branch has improved 10 fold. It was actually quite pleasant taking my cat in to check her eye. She got a scratch on it from picking a fight with her elder partner who is twice the size. So she was seen by a really friendly veterinarian who was brilliant and explained everything clearly. We were in on time and out with all the medication required shortly after. Keep up with the way your doing things now, as it is always appreciated when there is a friendly atmosphere and professional people to deal with.

The vet has taken lots of money off me. I’ve been back-and-forth have to pay consultation fees I took my dog there. She had a very small scab on her back - the vet said she looks like she has Cushing disease and then prescribed copious amounts of steroids seven a day along with antibiotics and another pill.
Which has caused her to break out in scabs all over her back.

What she should’ve done, which took a small biopsy and sent it off to see what antibiotics could treat her instead of giving her three different. Lots of antibiotics , it seems they just want to rake money in instead of helping.
I’ve done my own research and it states steroids should never be given to a dog with steroids as a dog with Cushing’s disease produce a lot of cortisol and by adding steroids, add more cortisol !!
And could possibly killed her!

She’s in such a terrible way that cost me 290 pound the first visit , second visit more antibiotics and commission fee,£150+ I then requested a Cushing’s blood test so I could find out exactly what’s wrong with her cause the vets won’t do their job.

They failed to tell me that you don’t get a yes or no for the Cushing’s result , that was 47O£ with more antibiotics!
I sent a photo to vets for pets of my French bulldog showing her back. The vet prescribed her more antibiotics just by looking at a photo that cost £115 !

I refused to use these vets like the other people have said on here they haven’t got a clue and they are absolutely right.

My French bulldog is in a terrible state. She looks like a street dog. She has about 20% hair left on our body and a whole back is covered in scabs. I’ve paid all this money and got nothing in return. My Dog is not fixed. She’s worse I’m gonna be writing into the head of vets.

And I’m changing my vets which charge less consultation fees and who know what they’re doing,

It’s totally shameful and criminal what she has done ! I wish I could upload a photo to show . People the state baby girl is in - French bulldog lu.

Exceptional care and support.

Exceptional care and support. We are incredibly grateful to the team for their recent assistance with our beloved dog. The compassion and genuine concern shown by everyone, from the veterinary staff to the reception, were truly remarkable. Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our boy this week, but we are thankful for the amazing support we received during this difficult time.

A Compassionate Farewell for Charlie

On 24th September, I brought my dog to a local veterinary service. Unfortunately, the vet informed me that he was very ill and that surgery would only extend his life for a few months. I faced the difficult decision to let him go. The staff moved us to a quiet room, provided clear explanations, and allowed me all the time I needed. Charlie passed away peacefully in my arms. A few days later, I received his paw prints and a small vial of fur, and a week later, I was contacted regarding his ashes. This has been an incredibly sad time, but the team has been professional, compassionate, and supportive throughout the process. If I decide to get another dog, I would certainly return to them.
