Volvo Brighton treat customers badly

Volvo Brighton, Melbourne, Australia, did an oil consumption test on my 2018 XC40 December 24 2024 and I they won't give me the test results. My 2018 model XC 40 is burning oil requiring a top up of 1 litre every month and more recently every 2 weeks. I will continue my campaign of exposing the appalling way they are dealing with a valuable customer by ignoring us. My car began displaying that it needed a litre of engine oil in February 2024 and this is getting worse - now it's every 2 weeks. I can therefore only drive it short distances. The car is not even 6 years old. The poor rating is not just for the car but for the very poor customer service.

Since day 2 our VC40B4 has has lock issues, and so many more, after 4 visits for repair and 10 months of hell, it has been towed as it has had a total meltdown. They do not care. Lookers do not care. They keep returning a dangerous car saying 'pilot error' despite their own staff and the breakdown team seeing all the problems. Don't buy this terrible car

Near-death experience

Well, there's just no doubt we could have all died. Not that Courtesy Volvo Cars of Scottsdale (Arizona) gives a damn. One of their "mechanics" over-inflated the tires on our XC60 to 60 psi. Predictably, this caused a major blowout -- while we were driving west between Phoenix and Los Angeles on Interstate 10, in the middle of nowhere, miles and miles and too many hours from a tow truck. For the record, Volvo recommends the tires be inflated to 35 psi.The tire maker itself recommends filling its tires to no more than 51 psi.An overinflated tire is just as dangerous as an underinflated one. Here's what Firestone (the tire company) says about it:"Most seriously, overinflated tires are at greater risk for a blowout. A tire blowout can cause you to lose control of your vehicle and negatively affect braking distance, endangering yourself and others on the road."Additionally, many of the safety features on your vehicle, like your anti-lock braking system, are designed to work when tires are filled to the vehicle manufacturer recommendations."Overinflated tires could compromise some of your car’s driver assistance functions."Wow, right? In our case, the blowout of the driver's side front tire didn't trash just the tire. It caused damage to the driver's side front panel. (There were three of us in the car at the time and, yeah, it was more than unsettling).According to Courtesy Volvo, repairs would cost about $3,400.And no, they were definitely not interested in covering any part of that cost -- although at first they told us they'd buy a replacement tire. But, after all, we were told, there was no way for them to know that we hadn't gone out and overinflated our own tires after they had serviced the car.Oh, and the tire shop in Indio, Calif., that checked the pressure on the rest of our tires and found they, too, had been overinflated? Well, as Courtesy's service manager told us, who knows what kind of air-pressure gauge they were using??Heck, he said, it could have been one of those old-fashioned, "unreliable" ones that look like pencils -- the ones your Dad and his Dad used without a problem for decades. To us, this case illustrates a few nasty things: Negligence, incompetence, an uncaring corporation, disregard of anything but its own bottom line, and an absolute unwillingness to accept responsibility or accountability.Do business with these jokers at your own peril. We're taking our case to Volvo U.S.A. and will let you know.P.S.: We still love our Volvo, just not the people servicing them at this particular dealership.

I used Rybrook Volvo Warrington and had my car serviced but before I had put the car into them for the service the car was running fine then all of a sudden after the service the oil light came on so I took it back they said that they had checked the car and put 1liter of oil in 2 months later the same light came on again so again I took it back and they said that they will check it so after 2hours they said it was ready so I got into my car and as soon as I started the car and straight away the oil light came on so I wasn’t happy so I walked back in and asked them why have I had to wait for 2hours and you haven’t put the oil in they had nothing to say so again I had to wait for them to put the oil in so after all this I asked why is my car doing this I was told it now needs a bottom block so when asked what that mean I was told you need a new engine so I said we’re do we go from here and I was told to go and get proof of purchase and receipts from when first bought the car and receipts of all the service parts and part numbers from 4 years ago and even though all the parts were purchased in Volvos parts department all go a sudden they couldn’t find anything in there system to help me out so because I couldn’t get them these receipts they have said they can’t do anything for me but to my surprise I have now found out that the engine in my Volvo v90 as got a common vault with these engines and they no it but still nothing no help what so ever disrespectful on Volvos part don’t use Volvo Warrington there a joke

Rusty before 8 years old- not impressed

I bought a 2015 Volvo just over a year ago for over £20k. A few weeks ago several rust patches appeared on the roof. The car’s in good condition otherwise. Been in touch with Volvo to explore whether the paint was defective and whether it could be covered under the warranty. Though the staff are polite, I’ve got nowhere- don’t think they are taking it seriously. Surely the paint should be suitable to withstand normal wear and tear? Sadly, having wanted a Volvo for many years, there is no way I would buy a Volvo again. I thought they were built to last and expected a higher standard of customer support.
