Review Time
Im sad to see some of the reviews here as they couldn’t be more different to my experience and others I know.I rescued two gorgeous, healthy JRT’s, with the funniest, cutiest personalities from Wallace Kennels in the last 6 months.Dee was beyond helpful and friendly every time we interacted and every time I came to view a dog on my search for the perfect additions to my home. All the staff showed care and affection for all the dogs I viewed. All the dogs interacted positively with the staff and myself. I was allowed to time with the dogs and introduce my dog to them.I was given time to make a decision and the cost was inline with all other rescue centres, in some cases cheaper, that I enquired at.Both my dogs came with pet insurance, an update from the vet they were registered at and a bag containing a blanket, toys, collar and lead and treats for them.I can’t thank Dee and everyone at Wallace Kennels enough for the beautiful happy dogs I rescued.
They gave us a dog that was meant to be safe but within 4 weeks hie bit someone and and they said its your dog your problem said they'd take him back but no refund and I would not want him to go to a home that was wrong again for him just so that they can grab another 300 quid cash.
Inexplicably rude, disrespectful and do not have dogs welfare at heart. Found two dogs which ended up there, they have been separated which should not have happened especially as one was clearly reliant on the other. Apparently a home lined up for one which as far as I’m aware, is against proper protocol and perhaps why they were separated!
I had to have my two French Bulldogs re-homed because I changed my job and my daughter left home for university. My bonded dogs are healthy, happy and inseparable. I made enquiries and Dee at Wallace Kennels confirmed in writing, that my dogs would be advertised on their sites as a bonded pair for re-homing. I made it very clear that I would not handover my dogs unless they were kept together. Up to this point Dee came across as nice. Once my dogs were handed over this all changed. Dee made a personal choice to rehome my boys separately. Throughout our communication she has been rude, dictatorial saying she answered to “no one”. When she advertised my Shadow (1st September 22) on FB, I was frantic that Stormy was not next to him as a pair. Dee did not respond to my emails. I, in the comment section, uploaded a photo of both dogs and pleaded with any prospective applicants to take both my boys. Three applicants messaged me and said that they could and would apply for both my boys Shadow and Stormy. Dee took down my comments and photograph of my boys and blocked me. My Stormy has not been shared on her/Wallace Kennels FB or webpage and I am going out of my mind not knowing what she has done with him. My angst and pain of not knowing how my boys are is causing my sleepless nights. The FB/Wallace Kennels states that my Shadow was re-homed (without his brother Stormy ☹) on 1st September 2022. I beg the new owner who has Shadow to contact me and let me know if he is OK. I am concerned that he may be suffering anxiety and whimpering for his brother Stormy. Losing me (their mum) was heart-breaking but to then be separated too is absolutely heartless. Dee at Wallace Kennels is a deceiving, rude and unsavoury individual. I can only surmise that her decision to separate my dogs without any consideration of their well-being earned her more where her “COMPULSORY CASH donation fee of £350 is required when someone takes a dog from the Kennels. I so wish I had read the reviews before handing over my dogs – the comments about Dee’s rudeness, refusing people access to the kennels to view the dogs speaks volumes. I am utterly heartbroken!
Rudest people I have EVER dealt with. Makes you wonder about the welfare of the dogs. I’ve found two dogs that ended up there & both times I called to check they were ok and was met with the rudest response, like I was annoying them by asking ?? They need to learn how to talk to people. I’m still shaking because they made me so angry. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere with either lost dogs or rehoming one. Judging by other reviews I’m not the only one who has been treated so rudely. Awful people
This is an honest review with no personal insults or nastiness. Having owned dogs for over 30 years, all sighthounds, I saw a lovely dog on their site & applied via the form. Heard nothing so rang to check & spoke to Dee, the owner who stated the dog was still there but had people coming at the weekend but had others & I could go in two days to see them. Unfortunately I became ill so could not go so let her no. The next week I still thought about the dog I liked so rang Dee who said she had not gone (by the way, she is very abrupt, verging on rude) & as christmas was coming she had to get the dogs gone as they shut on the 15th so I could go & see her, I said the next day. Took my dog, not allowed to see anything & dog was bought out to me. Dee was just as abrupt face to face as on the phone & took the Lurcher for a short walk then in a grassed area they have. She was rushing me so I said I would think about it. Decided on the drive home to take her so rang when I got home & asked if they do a trial run like other sighthound rescues. No, but we do offer a refund of 50% if it does not work out. This made me feel better as the adoption fee is expensive at £280! Next morning as I was leaving she sent paperwork through which stated there refund was only for 7 days after taking dog. Useless. Rushed the whole collection saying can you take the dog as my staff need to get back to work. BUT.....NO HOMECHECK. NO VIDEO HOMECHECK. NO ID ASKED FOR. Absolutely shocking for homing dogs that have been through hell already. The 1 star is literally for the volunteers & the dogs that hopefully get care.
Be careful if any one tries to adopt bailey a very sweet dog but had so many behavioural problems..with great sadness I had to take him back to Wallace kennels I felt bad putting him back in there due to the rudeness of the owner Dee..I feel that these dogs are not looked after properly no one made a fuss of him just put back in the kennels...I just wish a had loads of money to take all the dogs away from there a put them into safety...I tried to explain the problems that bailey had with Dee didn't seemed bothered...I really feel for bailey and the rest of the dogs
Very caring place, we have adopted two beautiful dogs from Wallace. The owners, staff and volunteers all do a fantastic job for the many, many dogs they care for and help to re home. Would not hesitate for a second to recommend Wallace kennels. Thank you for all you do.
