Young lady did a brilliant job on my little Pug, who is very nervous and on occasion, reactive !! She was very kind and patient with him. Didn’t manage to get nails cut (agreed b4 hand leave if too distressed) but he looked amazing 😻 all of his thick undercoat was gone. He looked beautiful & clean when I collected him. This was OUTSTANDING work and he left a happy little crappie. Obviously forgiven for trying to bite hands anywhere near his nails!!! I noticed the organisation books in loads of dogs one after another. I just hope the groomers are fairly compensated for all this hard work 😓 7 dogs on one day makes it hard to imagine these young ladies getting a decent relaxed break!!!
I utilized the service for several years and they typically did a fantastic job. Previously, they provided a free grooming voucher, which was a great incentive. Unfortunately, this has now been replaced with a half-price voucher, and prices have risen considerably. Last year, I paid £56 for grooming my medium-sized dog, and when I attempted to schedule our usual three-month appointment, the cost had increased to £68. Regrettably, due to these continuous price hikes, we will not be returning.
If I could. I would give 0 stars. Where to start where these jokers. First off. None of the prices are listed properly. When I called to ask why they told my partner it would cost £70 (on top of the £15 deposit which adds up to £85), they said it was an estimate because it was between 60-65 which is listed. Which may I add. It wasn’t. And then they had a cheek to say my dog was severely matted when I know for a fact he wasn’t as I had only just brushed his fur that morning. The only thing he had was long fur as his groomer is on maternity leave and I’m too pregnant to be trying to bathe and cut his fur. They made it sound like I’ve been negelcting him. Even when I haven’t. So I said it was a scam and that I wanted to come and get him, they refused and said I couldn’t because it had already started. The staff are rude as when we went to pick my dog up, the receptionist was giving me dirty looks, because I told them straight over the phone that it’s a disgrace and they scam people out of money. I specifically said I didn’t want my dog bald. Which is what they ended up doing to him, and left his tail alone. They didn’t even do a good job as he still had long pieces of fur all over. When I got him back. He couldn’t run out of there quick enough. And today. He has been withdrawn to which I have now noticed he is in pain from his bottom areas when they shaved off a scab as he has allergies. It also looks like a little bruise has formed on his belly. She also DRAGGED my dog into the salon because he’s a very nervous and skittish dog with new people considering he has one eye and is a rescue dog. Never again will I subject my dog to whatever abuse these scumbags caused. And may I advise you to do the same. He’s been non stop scratching since he left there. And from other reviews. Wouldnt surprise me if he got fleas from that place. It needs to be shut down
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Absolutely amazing experience – thank you Kels & Sophie!I cannot recommend Kels and Sophie at the Pets at Home Groom Room, Sturry Road (Canterbury) enough. They truly went above and beyond when grooming my toy poodle, Teddy. From start to finish, they were so kind, gentle, and reassuring. Teddy is usually quite anxious with grooming, but for the first time ever this was a really lovely, calm, and positive experience for him. They clearly took the time to understand him, made him feel safe, and treated him with so much care and patience. His groom was done beautifully — he looked absolutely gorgeous, clean, perfectly styled, and clearly comfortable. Their attention to detail and level of care was outstanding. Both Kels and Sophie were very, very professional, and you can instantly tell they genuinely love what they do.I’m actually from Birmingham, and I would absolutely travel all this way again just to have Teddy groomed by them. That alone says everything. I honestly can’t thank them enough or give them enough credit — it means the world knowing my dog was so well looked after. We will 100% be returning and recommending them to everyone we know.Thank you again for taking such amazing care of Teddy 🐶💙
Extremely patient with my pet dogs having their nails clipped as they are so anxious. However the girl who is covered in tattoos I found to be extremely rude, not friendly at all. She had no manners whilst talking to myself, she made both me and my mum feel very uncomfortable. When I mentioned how anxious my dogs are she stated it will cost more if 2 of us have to assist your dog! I couldn’t believe her attitude and tone whilst saying this. I would have paid any price as long as my dogs were happy and safe. I was trying to distract my dog whilst she was having her nails clipped by talking to my dog through the glass window, and gently tapping the window. The girl with the tattoos spoke to me in a rude and aggressive manner asking me to stop tapping the window. I understand her reasoning behind it, but her mannerisms, and attitude was awful! I always come here to have my dogs groomed and nails clipped but I will not be returning again due to this girl. Absolutely disgusting
I used the Groom Room for several years and they generally did an excellent job. Specifically Stratford upon Avon. Utter disgrace of a business, on multiple occasions they have changed my appointment last minute, booked me in on a date and time that the store is closed, lost one of my pets details and not honoured the booking, the final straw was today due to traffic I was 5 mins late, I messaged the store to tell them but they refused to do the groom.
Basically if you have a large breed don’t go there. We have a long hair American Akita. Second time taking him there , as we thought we would give them a second chance, second time he came back to us half finished and still wet. This is after waiting 2 hours. They should just say they can’t do large dogs , which they obviously can’t. And the staff, well people skills 4/10.
