Just had the most disgusting steak slice I have ever had from Warrens Newton Abbot. Dry horrible pastry, no meat whatsoever just one small piece of grissel and a lot of brown slop which I suppose was allegedly gravy, not a one off as my wife’s was exactly the same. A similar experience with a so called Cornish Pasty last week at Warrens Trago Mills, thats us finished with Warrens, never again.
I used to be one of Warrens Bakers managers some years ago. High standards then. So today, for the first time in years I visited the Taunton shop for 2 Belgium buns and 2 sausage rolls. Oh goodness me! They were awful. The sausage rolls were just greasy pastry, there was very little meat ( if it was meat) . The Belgium buns were like rocks. I don't think they were fresh to be honest. If I was a manager today I would be ashamed to serve a customer such rubbish. And that little lot cost me over £8. It all ended up in the bin. What has happened to Warrens Bakers?. One thing is sure I will never go into any of their shops again.
Bought 2 large steak pasties at Trago Mills Warrens Bakery Newton Abbot. The pastry was thick over half a cm with a huge crimped area. Not cooked properly, the inside was slimy and veg tasted of nothing. Probably cut up and left in water. I had 4 pieces of gristly inedible steak and I would have taken them back yet we had driven away. Disgusting!
Had a bacon and a sausage bap, both with brown sauce.Oh dear.Very dry and clagging bread with very thick skinned luke warm Sausages. As a bakery you would hope that they could at least provide decent bread. Very disappointing. No wonder people were queuing for macdonalds next door. Shame
On the 27th August 2023 I visited the Union St Torquay branch to purchase doughnuts! Whilst choosing I was told several of the flavours were ‘still frozen’ whilst clearly still being on display,I was then advised which were ‘defrosted’!!! I should have know better but I continued with my purchase of 1 X Homer,2 x Jamie dodger and 1 x biscoff at a cost of £10!!!! Later that day we tried them only to find the biscoff & jammie dodger ones were dry and stale, quite revolting & ended up in the bin!!! I immediately completed a ‘contact us form’ to advise of my dismay & to ask where their ‘previously frozen’ policy was displayed?! It said you would hear within 3 days..it’s been a lot longer but heard nothing,I’ve also emailed head office using the ‘ceo addtesss’ given online but again nothing!!! Shocking customer service AND doughnuts
How hard is it to make a cup of tea, and put a decent amount of milk in it so it's not just scalding over-stewed water? Clearly beyond the disinterested staff at Gatwick (North) and when I tried to ask for more, they all stood around at the back of the serving area pretending they couldn't hear me until I gave up.
