I had a 4 day birding safari in and around Nakuru and Naivasha, Kenya in Feb. I'm not a fanatical twitches but do love birds.
The organisation was excellent and my guide and driver really first class.
I have no hesitation in recommending Sam of Wildbirding and his team.

I contacted Sam Ferguson, founder of Wild Birding based in Kenya requesting a 6-day birding trip starting and ending in Entebbe, Uganda to include most of our time in Murchison Falls NP. Sam suggested several stops along the way and enlisted a highly experienced guide. He provided a detailed custom itinerary and was prompt in answering all of our questions. Our first lodge the Masindi Hotel was well located and had Old World charmed, however the room was exceptional small and the shower cool the first night and completely cold the second. The Pakuba Safari Lodge at Murchison was excellent, in a great location with large comfortable rooms, an outstanding common eating area overlooking the Nile and a warm wonderful staff, plus an amazing amount of wildlife on the grounds. With only six days to work with, Sam put together a very nice itinerary for us.The highlight of this experience was by far our guide. My wife and I have traveled to over a dozen countries, birding with professional guides. Most have been excellent, some outstanding, but none have matched the skills of our recent Uganda birding guide Arshley Brian. He is by far the very best birding guide we have ever had the pleasure to work with. His knowledge of the 1,088 birds of Uganda is complete. He instantly knows every call and his ability to hear, then locate birds is truly super human. On top of this, he is a wonderful young man, very friendly, enthusiastic and attentive. His knowledge goes well beyond birds, knowing all the flora and fauna just as well. In six days (August 10th – 15th) we saw just under 300 bird species, going to only three locations. Half a day in the Mabamba Swamp where we had fantastic views of the Shoebill, ending that first day with 90 species. Then on to Masindi to spend one full day in the beautiful Budongo Central Forest Reserve, where we had great views of the illusive Chocolate-backed and African Dwarf Kingfishers, Rufous-crowned Eremonela and White-spotted Flufftail, finishing the second day with 70 new species. Then four excellent days birding at Murchison Falls NP, where we also had wonderful sightings of all the big game. Our only regret was that we did not plan a longer itinerary with Arshley, to included additional National Park locations, which would have provided many more species. By the time we had to say goodbye to Arshley, he was no longer just our guide, he had become our friend. If you have the opportunity to hire Arshley Brian as your guide in Uganda, you will not be disappointed. We give him our highest possible recommendation. Greg & Danette VassilopoulosColorado, USA
Firstly thanks to you Sam for helping us organise our wonderful Uganda and Kenya trip. It all went pretty much to plan and the experiences we had will live with us for the rest of our lives. From start to finish we were looked after extremely well. The drivers/guides were marvellous, not just in their knowledge, advice and driving skill but also with theirwonderful sense of humour. We felt perfectly safe and at ease throughout the whole trip. There was a break in continuity with our Uganda guides which was a little disconcerting but Steven took over from Arshley quite seamlessly in the end. The Uganda element went very well overall. Unfortunately the roads around Bwindi were such that our birding remained local as the loger trips were not feasible and perhaps the drive from Mahogany Springs to Lake Mburu was a little ambitious so we could not get to the Lake for our planned boat trip which was the only disappointment. Both our guides there were extremely knowledgable and were very patient with our endless questions. The lodges we stayed at were of a high standard throughout with a few being really exceptional i.e. Primate Lodge, Mweya, Mahogany Springs in Uganda and Rnndo Retreat, Salt lick, Amboselli and Hemingway in Kenya. The staff at the lodges were very attentive, Mary in Primate Lodge in particular was simply brilliant and couldn't do enough for us, The Kenya birding trip was also equally enjoyable with the local guides enhancing our experience with their local knowledge. Our driver Paul was simply exceptional and we felt safe and comfortable throughout. We were also continually entertained by his conversation and sense of humour. We will be recommending your services to our friends and family and we wish you all the success in the future. All the very bestAndy & Nora
Was our first time to Africa as beginner birders and have left with a huge passion for the hobby. The Wild team was great in helping us form a customised itinerary based on our dates, budget, and what we were keen to see (birds plus general African safari), and it could not have been easier. Our guide Paul was extremely knowledgeable and was amazing how he could spot an uncommon species out of the corner of his eye while driving along the highway. He was also very happy for us to go at our own pace and really take in the WOW moments (there were a lot). Saw around 230 species over 4 days and left with a tonne of incredible photos that will take us months to sort through. For future birders: be prepared for early starts and long days, and a lot of time in the vehicle and on the road. It will feel like hard work in the moment but it's absolutely worth doing it properly with the right team behind you.Asante sana!!
