A horrible company. They would not insurance my Corvette because I had too much stuff in garage. Then they wanted to insure my daily drivers which I have with Allstate. Wanted to know too much personal information. Not a company to insure your special car with.
10 years ago this company was helpful and polite. Not anymore. Mostly apathetic. Lately talked to John, Guy, and Brian. All 3 seemed to have better things to do. What happened to customer service, integrity, just general caring. All that seems to have gone away according to these 3. Or maybe it's the company itself. They may have made soooo much money that THEY don't care anymore. Or maybe they are not making enough money (doubtful). I don't know what it is but it is discouraging to contact them for anything. And the service takes way too long for them to get back to me. Still with them but dread having to call them for changes or updates let alone a claim. So far zero claims.
A good friend referred me to Grundy. They had just insured his 2009 collector car, with his daily driver being a 1987 Chevy...22 years older than his insured collector car. Within 6 weeks of him acquiring his policy with Grundy, I applied for coverage on my 2012 collector car, my fully insured daily driver being a 2002 Chevy. I was declined coverage on the basis of:1) Insufficient daily driver. 2) We can not insure your only private passenger vehicle. 3) Not an ideal risk.I responded, saying that an error had been made, because I had supplied my current insurance declarations page showing 2 insured vehicles. The answer I received from Grundy was that "My daily driver must be newer than my insured 2012 collector car, OR, within 3 years. In other words, my daily driver needed to be a 2009 or newer!!Nowhere on their web site does it say this. And if this is true, why was my friends 2009 collector car insured only 6 weeks earlier with a 1987 driver??Obviously I contacted them again, both my customer service contact, and the person from underwriting whi declined my coverage. I requested my case to be elevated to higher ups, and that they Point me to the web page that states that your daily driver must be newer or within 3 years of the car you want to ensure.Needless to say, I never heard from anyone again at Grundy Worldwide. I do plan to file a complaint with my state and other agencies, just to get their unethical practices on the record.
have been trying without any success to get a refund on a policy that was cancelled early. Going on two months and keep getting lied too told the check was mailed on 3 different dates so far, no check! I will definitely never ever take out another policy with this company and will tell everyone I know at the local cars shows to stir clear of them.Date of experience: June 10. 2024
Almost every interaction with this company has been negative. Every time we have called, customer service seems to have an attitude. The final straw was when we tried to add multiple cars to our policy; they sent a bill but said don’t worry about paying until everything is finalized. Next letter I got was a cancellation notice saying our policy was terminated due to nonpayment. Curious why no contact was made, no letter or call prior to terminating? I can’t imagine what the service would be like if you had an actual issue. Took our seven collector vehicles to a company with much better customer service.
Worst insurance co. Stay away. If you decide to change insurance companies they will hit you with a big fee. They keep upping your cost and coverage every year until it crazy. I got the same coverage from Hagerty for a third of price. Customer service is rude and arrogant.
Awful experience. Was a Hagerty customer for years. Quoted with Grundy because Hagerty got insanely expensive. Grundy came in about 60% cheaper than Hagerty for the same coverage. This is where things went down hill. I gave them all the information including the effective date I wanted. That time frame would have given them a week to get everything set up. Several days went by and I heard nothing, so I called, and was told they were working on it and to give them time. A couple more days went by and I emailed, and 2 days later received a response requesting more information.. Long story short they had nothing set up in time and I wound up having the registration suspended by New York for a insurance lapse. $100 fee. But everything was set up and I was saving allot of money. Come March 2024 I requested to add a 3rd collector vehicle that I won at auction. No response. I literally want to give you more money and no one can reach out to me. This was the last straw for me. If you can't take the time to help a customer who wants to give you more business then how are you going to be when I file a claim? I cancelled my policy and went with American Collectors. Grundy may be cheap, but you get what you pay for. Expect non existent customer service!
Spent about a month trying to get insurance from them. And then they deny me because of 2 speeding tickets. One in 2020 and one in 2021. It’s now 2024 and they won’t insure me? Talk about being a bunch of fools, that’s one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard.
Grungy classic car insurance is by far the worst company for classic cars. They are a low budget. People skills are horrible. They do not pay out claims they look for any flaws excuses I am in the process of suing them. My name is John Ramos from San Francisco, California please please do not use these phones go with Hagerty. You will be way more happier with a better quality company.
