I have been using HelioHost for over a decade and the staff (which are all unpaid volunteers) have been always helpful. I have seen paid hosting sites come and go, but not HelioHost. They not only keep the service running, but are always improving it. If you are starting, there is no better place to go. Even if you are not starting, it's the place to go. As told, I have been there for years and years, and hopefully, will continue to enjoy the excellent service they provide for years to come. No upselling, no adware, no artificial limitations, no popups. Just top notch service! Recommended.
Their hosting is reliable for what I need it for, support is great and even helps with setting up projects on HelioHost outside of the basic account support you'd expect from volunteers. Overall they're a great nonprofit for web hosting, and I'd recommend heliohost to anyone looking to learn how to make a website and host it on a website management thing (like Plesk, which is what they use).

We offer as many free hosting accounts as we can, and we also offer donation based hosting accounts to help offset the cost of providing hosting for free. In addition, we provide affordable VPS hosting plans and scaling pricing based on usage for people who wish to upgrade from the free plans.
