In 2021 I enrolled in a Master's…

In 2021 I enrolled in a Master's Program for Applied Behavioral Analysis, 16 months later I was 1 class and my capstone away from completing the Master's, or so I thought. I took a close look at my transcripts and was concerned to see that all my classes had titles starting with PSY instead of ABA. I thought it was possible NCU considered ABA a part of Psychology, so I called up to confirm because my student ID stated I was in a ABA Master's Program. I found out at that point that "NO" I was not almost done with a Master's in Applied Behavioral Analysis, I was one class away from a Master’s in General Psychology! I insisted on being switched to the correct Master's Program and have since completed the correct Master's ( on my own steam and perseverance). Towards the end of the my Master’s program I had difficulty getting in touch with my Professor's when I had questions about assignments and could not get a response from my advisor either! I have spent 6 months alone being passed back and forth among the faculty trying to simply get an answer concerning how to complete the Master’s in General Psychology just to find out that they added 6 extra courses to the end of the degree and am still waiting to hear if they are planning on making me pay for a degree they enrolled me in without my approval. I want to complete the course since I have already taken 6 of the now 12 courses they require but am getting the run around just finding out what those courses are. BEWARE TO ANYONE TRYING TO GET A DEGREE FROM THIS INSTITUTE!

University Lacks Consistant Communication

I gave this university two tries before I knew I should withdraw. The first time I was with them for about a year and a half. During that time, I had about nine different advisors. There seemed to be a high turnover. I had to leave the university temporarily but returned with a different major. I was told that the high turnover of advisors occurred with the Northcentral/National University merger. However, after two months, my advisor left. Only she wasn't replaced for over two months. I was always told my advisor would be replaced shortly, but never was. This is an adequate university if you believe you'll never need a personal advisor to advise you when the unexpected happens. However, if you want consistent customer service to go along with the education you paid for, choose a different school.

BEWARE

Northcentral University aka National University is a predatory institution. PLEASE BEWARE!!!! I was charged for a semester I did not attend! I have been challenging it for years! If this has happened to you, please help others by writing reviews and expanding to social media. I am just getting started and there are so many people out there in this same situation! I don’t mind paying for courses I take, but don’t charge me for a course I was not enrolled in!

Learning online is not for everyone

Learning online is not for everyone. On the contrary, it takes a well disciplined individual, with good time management skills to be able to manage all facets of life. My experience was well rounded with a couple of hiccups throughout my journey, but like anything in life, it was a learning experience. My instructors were well above average and they provided up to date materials when addressing assignments. Now, I give all the praise to my dissertation board for being patient with me, because anyone who knows me, knows that I can be a very difficult person, but they handled me with distinction and I am extremely appreciative of that. Look, each persons experience is different, but what I can say, without a doubt, is that NCU changed my career trajectory for the better and I cannot be more grateful for that. I completed my Ed.D. w/ Organizational Leadership (2017) within the allotted time, and by no stretch of the imagination was it easy. If it was easy, everyone would have a Doctorate. Follow the syllabus, maintain constant contact with you instructors, and continue tracking. That was my experience and everything in between happened for a reason, which after everything is said an done, has gotten me to were I am today.

If you want to waste your money and…

If you want to waste your money and time, then NORTHCENTRAL is the place. I was a student there for over 3 years pursuing my education in PhD in business administration management. I've successfully completed the first 16 courses with a GPA of 3.57. However, for the dissertation which is 5 chapters I have been stuck in Chapter 1 for 24 weeks, every week I submit Chapter 1 my chair denied it then they dismissed me from school. I sought opinions from esteemed professors at various universities, all of whom concurred that my research deserved approval. their validation only amplified the frustration caused by the perpetual roadblocks I encountered. In pursuit of justice, I hold deep respect for my university and all its staff and I embarked on a grade appeal—a route I hoped would rectify the situation. Unfortunately, the Dean's office denied it after costing me approximately 80k.

Shame on you NCU!!

Shame on you NCU!!! You proved that you were a greedy-for-profit school preying on good people looking to fulfill their dreams for doctoral studies. I hit a brick wall at the dissertation, But, somehow they managed to ink out a Post-Certificate in Business for me, despite failing me and leaving me with ABD (all but dissertation). I cannot move forward and now I'm stuck with over $65k of Student loan debt. I've been plunged into poverty class because NCU misrepresented their faculty, classes, and credibility. By the way, I would be appreciated if you return my calls.

After the prior experiences with this…

After some prior experiences with this university, I still wanted to return to complete the remaining 27 credits of my (dba) doctoral degree; now reading and sharing the reviews in "Trust Pilot", I'm concern and I'm in screaming agony. In June 2022 I took a year and half to relax and return in January 2024, however now, my thoughts are strongly leaning toward not returning to North central University aka National University. For I've had some of the same experiences being lamented about here in "Trust Pilot". My decision now is locate a new university, with the hope and prayer that I can transfer most of my existing credits. Thanks to all of you for sharing what happen to you at North Central University aka National University.

Excellent MFT Program

Love the MFT program at this university. I love the flow of the classes and the material. The teachers were great at adequately responding to my emails. Do not let, so many essays scare you. If you genuinely have a passion for helping people and want to grow, this program will do just that! This school has provided me with a quality education, and I'm just in my 6th class. If you are hesitant about going here this is your sign to sign up and take this program. You will not regret it! You must be willing to teach yourself the material since this is an online class but from my experience, I love learning things on my own and this school has allowed me to do just that. The best part is it is COAMFTE accreditated and I love that it is only me and the teacher and not a traditional classroom. I find myself learning way better when it is just me learning. Take the MFT program at this school you will not regret it!

Attending Northcentral University…

Attending Northcentral University changed my life. I was able to earn my Ed.D while working full-time. While it was not always an easy journey. NCU was there to help me every step of the way. So thank you! Dr.Keyanna K.Hawkins

NCU Rocks!!!

Today, Dec. 12, 2022, I successfully defended my dissertation in Educational Leadership at NCU. I started my doctorate eight years ago at another school that shall remain nameless. I incurred a huge amount of student debt from that school and did not get anything from it. In fact, recently, I learned that there is a class action lawsuit against that university. I left that school with my dreams of becoming a Doctor totally shattered. I have never felt as defeated as I did. NCU welcomed me with open arms. I applied to be in the Dissertation Pathway Program, which allowed me to transfer all of my credits from the previous school and take a couple of courses to begin my journey of writing my dissertation. NCU is a diverse university. It provides structures and programs for everyone to meet with success. I was guided throughout my dissertation with resources such as the Academic Writer, The Dissertation Center, and other resources to support me with my writing and research skills. I love NCU. I consider myself a long-life learner and "give back" type of person. My Dissertation Chair was with me from beginning to end, often calling and texting each other in the evenings and on weekends. I owe her a mountain of gratitude. I will continue to share my study at NCU and other events to support teachers, school, and district leaders. Thank you, NCU!
