AB not what it used to be

AB not what it used to be. Trucks that wouldn’t pass an inspection in the states (seriously), and the transfer back to the airport dropped us off on across the parking lot to avoid paying a fee.

booked to pick up from airport! had to go to their yard waiting for big bus to pick us from airport as per their rep said and no little mini bus crammed in lots not worry about covid got to yard they changed booking and had to sort out again!! truck wasn't completely clean inside but what with being on a plane all day just wanted to get to apartment, rear bed and tailgate on truck had BIG RUST HOLES and nasty screw bolts used to try and fix things just rip into your kit!! drop of was easy just left truck on roadside as per their instructions and walked away

These guys were awesome

These guys were awesome. I had to unexpectadly extend my stay in bonaire….AB totally took care of me… they enabled me to make the best out of a bad situation. Car drove well, made it extremely easy to get around the island…..everything was explained with no suprises…ill definitely be renting here again when i return

Awful

Awful! Read the T&C’s carefully before booking with this company! They changed their cancellation terms and conditions after my booking to specifically name pandemics and then attempted to keep all of my money once I was unable to travel to Bonaire. Thankfully I disputed the charge with the credit card company and received the majority of money back, minus the correct $75 cancellation charge. AB say that the money was being withheld permanently and I could use it in the future, but that is awful with what’s going on today regarding Covid and the changes people have had to make to their plans. The local agent I booked my accommodation with and the event companies all refunded my money no problem. Thanks for adding to the stress of recent events AB! I’m sure they have many many happy clients but this disgusting practice has left a very sour taste. I hope others take heed before booking.

Due to the pandemic ab car rental has…

Due to the pandemic ab car rental has decided to keep my money as well - even though I had called to cancel the car prior to the virus officially shutting everything down. The also have told me to use travel insurance to get a refund - not sure why they think an insurance company should be on the hook for their issue. The best part was when they sent me their cancellation policy that was obviously modified to include an out clause for 'pandemic disease'. I understand that they need money to live on but they have illustrated to me that they are not the type of company that I am comfortable with having any type of future credit with. Hey ab car rental - return our money!

Thieves!!!

We had booked a rental for our spring break with AB. However with CoVid19 outbreak, our state and Bonaire are on a shelter in place. AB will not return our money, instead they will keep it indefinitely with no interest payments for us to use when/if we rebook. No guarantee that they are going to be in business. They told us to file an insurance claim, because they don't want to work out a civil agreement. Basically they are stealing from people. If we vacation to Bonaire, will probably not be using them. THEY ARE GETTING RICH OFF A PANDEMIC! Thieves!

5 star experience with AB Car Rental

5 star experience with AB Car Rental. The whole process was simple. Reservations made on-line in the States, with a receipt on-line confirmation. Followed up reminder a couple of days before our trip and pick-up at the Airport to the rental area was easy and with no issues. The trucks are clean and somewhat well maintained. Ours was a bit older and showed signs of wear and tear. What can you expect on an island where parts are harder to obtain than on the mainland. However, more preventative maintenance is necessary on the obvious prone risk car parts. We rented a BC and it was in good condition and operated well throughout our dives. Tank exchange was easy and again no issues. Evo was a great help with a maintenance issue on my regulator and helped me avoid having to rent a substitute. This is our 6th time to Bonaire and second time using AB. We plan to use them again on our next visit
