Opgelet ! Corona virus - is weg vakantie maar ook je geld. Het voorstel om de boeking op latere datum te verzetten is voor ons niet van toepassing. Antwoord = iedereen moet zijn steentje bijdragen 😵 leuk is anders zij hebben ons geld en wij zijn onze vakantie en geld kwijt ! Waar is de solidariteit ? Ab car rental zet dit aub recht !
The pickup of the car was excellent. I was picked up at the airport and transferred to the rental place on time without waiting. That is the reason why I rated with two stars. Let’s talk about what went heavily wrong.The process at the counter was very disappointing. Staff was very unfriendly and had the attitude "I know everything better". The check-up of the cars pre-condition was very unprofessional. I was not able to keep up with the review process of the car (checking the car for existing damages). I was rushed to verify the existing damages. When I asked that I need to take my own time to assess the car by my own judgment, I received some negative attitude in return. I discovered an additional damage on the outside of the car which was not noted on the check-up sheet. I asked the staff to note that one on the check-up sheet. The staff told me in return, that she noted the existing damage on the cars other side so that she does not need to note in the correct side. I could not believe what I was told. Imagine I would have not insisted to note the damage on the check up sheet on the correct side of the car and bringing back the car, I probably would have to pay for it. Wow.I started the car and wanted to drive away. I noted that the car display unit notified about a door which is not shut. All doors were shut so I notified the staff about a probable damage. First they did not want to help me. As I insisted that this could be a problem, they pointed to the back yard to the garage. Telling me to wait for the mechanic. I was really angry to get a car which was not checked before renting to the customer. People like me want to enjoy every minute of their vacation time and not spending time for doing repairs??!The mechanic told me that the sensor of the respective car was damaged and needed to be replaced. But the car can be used without issues. I did not want to waste more time so I told that I will accept the condition because they could not give me a replacement. As I was driving the car, the car was beeping because of the damaged sensor, which I did not expected. My vacation was really spoiled. I have to say the cars overall condition was in a really bad shape. The gearbox / transmission was shaking heavily. The steering of the pick-up was indistincly and vague. The engine would not start immediately after a long idle time. In the evening I asked to have a replacement of the car, which eventually I received. Also this car was only in a slightly better condition. At the end of my renting period I wanted to refuel the replacement car just to find out, that the lever inside the car to open the fuel trunk was broken. Only with the help of some customers at the fuel station we were able to pull open the trunk to fuel the car.To finalize, same as previously I also received a car which was not checked before renting to the customer. You can judge for yourself if you want to waste your time with discussions and repair and replacement times and bad cars not to say the least.
Pick-up from the airport was fast and within 20 minutes after leaving the airport I was driving the car that i've rented. Unfortunately the car broke down after a day, after calling with AB Car rental a mechanic arrived within a half an hour. He tried to fixed it but it didn't help so he gave me a ride back to AB car rental where I could get a new car. The only point that could be improved is the replaced car was not clean (mostly it smelled like cigarrete smoke). So it would be even better if there is always a clean car ready to replace a broken one. The service and communication is a five star! Also the private ride back towards the airport. So I recommend AB Car for sure! :)
This is a fantastic company to work with. From start to finish they take care of everything for you, and the price is great. We have used them twice now and I can not find a bad thing to say about them. From the car rental to the dive shop everyone is super friendly and works hard to make sure your vacation is perfect. We will definitely use them again on our next trip to Bonaire.
We hear so many horror stories of car rental companies, here is a very different company.Three or four groups of my family are out at Bonaire at the moment, all having rented trucks (it's a diving island) from ABcarrental. The car rental service they received could not have been better.My wife and I should be there with the truck I had booked and paid for before the holiday. Unfortunately, my wife broke her leg hours before our flight and we could not go. My daughter was already on the island, and she explained what had happened to ABcarrental. Within a couple of days they had refunded my credit card in full. No fuss, no messing and no admin fee (which I am sure other companies would have charged).It restores your faith!
