Worst, most terrible company.Working off phone, late at night and accidentally went through them not the Gov site.Days of wasted emails and wasted $200. Finally registered the biz name myself through ASIC within 5 mins. The WORST part, they have all my data!! So devastated about that.Beware!!!!
I'm so embarrassed that I even used this company, and only realised after it was all too late. I had several tabs open on my browser for the ATO and somehow filled out all my details on this scam company's page. Only found out when I went to the official Government Business Registration webpage's chat that I'd been scammed. I'm now in a black hole of not being in any control over my registration whatsoever - and worse still... this unscrupulous company has all my personal details.
I was about to start a new business when researching about business registration requirements. I came across an online service called ABNregistration.com that promised to provide an Australian Business Number (ABN) within 15 minutes, all for just $533. I thought this was perfect for me since I needed an ABN quickly and didn't want to go through the complicated application process. After entering my details and my credit card information, I clicked the submit button. After a short wait, my browser redirected me to a page that said "Thank you for doing business with Honcho, we have received your payment." I was confused and immediately suspected that something was not right. I thought I had already finished with the ABN registration process, but instead, I ended up in Honcho's website.Out of suspicion, I looked for other ABN registration sites and found a scam alert on Trustpilot warning me about ABNregistration.com. I immediately realized I had made a big mistake by entrusting my sensitive information to this fraudulent website. They even charged me more than what's advertised!I quickly contacted my bank and informed them of the scam. Luckily, my bank took immediate action, and they were able to stop the payment before I lost more money. I was grateful for their quick action, but I was extremely disappointed to have wasted a lot of time and effort dealing with these scammers. The experience taught me that not all websites offering quick and inexpensive services can be trusted. It's always the best practice to verify a website's legitimacy before making any payments or sending sensitive information online. Always make sure to read reviews, ratings and look for legitimate accreditation before trusting any online services.Once I learned my lesson, I found a legitimate and trustworthy way to register for an ABN. I urge everyone to be cautious and avoid falling for scams like what happened to me.
Like many people out there I’ve considered starting my own business. Excitedly I searched for abn registration and believed I had found an official website. In total I was charged $464 for abn rego, business name rego and some certificate for business name that was suggested would be required. It wasn’t until I got a receipt from some company called honcho.com that I realised something wasn’t quite right. I immediately emailed back the company to request a cancellation of the order. I then found the correct government site for abn and business name rego, the whole thing cost $92 total. It’s worth mentioning that the abn rego from ABNregistration.com did not arrive in the 30 minutes they advised. I did in fact receive the abn number immediately through the rego I done myself. 2 days later abnregistration.com emailed back to advise they could not refund the payment as they already had carried out the abn rego and quoted the wrong date my abn rego was active from. This I advised them of immediately, they have now stopped responding. After reading some other reviews here I have now submitted a story suggestion to 60 minutes, channel nine tv show. I would urge anyone else with a dispute to do the same. The word needs to be spread to everyone to ensure this business practice is stopped. I believe this to be a scam service and their customer service refusing assistance meets with this suspicion. Please avoid this business, calm your enthusiasm in starting your business and spend that extra few minutes and go direct with the Aus gov pages, it will save you some money for your business and keeps your excitement going with your venture.
Here's the last email i wrote to the Honcho Support Team.To Honcho SupportMay & Rachel ( The Client Support Professionals )I landed on this page below. Not a business banner in sight. And not the landing page you suggested. Why no banner or Business name????I believe your business model prays on people who are expecting to land on a government website & assuming so, aren’t carefully reading all of the information. What a fool, my mistake, so much for being trusting by nature.Your business hides just enough information for people to start filling in your online form. In retrospect there are clues but all at the end of the page or the end of the process. And I’m sure you can scrape by legally and claim you are the “good guys” preforming a legitimate service.Let say I made a mistake, why does your business not care that people might make a mistake and just kindly offer a refund on the spot.?? Without an arbitrary admin fee of ($43.85) in your terms and conditionsPerhaps adjust the webpage to avoid this happening in the future.? Is it possible this is a mistake at your end or actually not? For your customer service people to tell me that all the information about being a private company is clear, is just not so. And 20 days to consider a refund, must be lots of considering happening at once in your business. This must be hard way to earn a living 43 dollars a time. Do you sleep well?Steve F
