Active Utilities
Compensation from Active Utilities who illegally took my money overcharged
In cases where utility companies have illegally overcharged customers, compensation can be sought through various channels.
Energy Ombudsman: help resolve the issue and award compensation for your illegally.
File a Complaint: apparently with the department of Active Utilities who deal with compensation. They must be busy given Trust Pilot rank them 2.1/5.
Breaches of consumer protection often demand legal action. We intend on seeking a court order.
You are already aware I have considerable evidence against you, along with your confessions. We intend to fully pursue the misappropriation of my funds and rightfully seek a substantial settlement.
Sadly, you treat me and this situation as uninteresting and don’t understand the gravity.
Your staff said, “the account was closed almost 3 years ago” thus you clandestinely stole as much as you could... your despicable acts would have continued; glad I finally read a bank statement.
I asked, “who was pocketing the cash if my account was closed with a zero balance?”
Nobody ever answered. You have internal theft. Pride.
Was forced to set up a direct debit from my bsb and a/c number as ‘your BPay wasn’t working’. Maybe this is a common ruse to boost profits.
I await Mari from Manila, with knowledge and authority to process instant refunds, goodwill payments and restitution. Ref# 93044678

My experience with Active Utilities has been terrible, and I urge anyone considering a building they service to think twice. Despite being away for three weeks with minimal power use, bills inexplicably increased by 2.5+ times. They don't offer smart meters which causes a headache when comparing on the government provided service, and even if you switch to another provider, Active Utilities charges you a fee to do so. Adding to the frustration, power costs within the same building are wildly inconsistent, with smaller apartments often paying significantly more than larger ones. This company is simply not worth the hassle.
Active utilities only exist because of Victorian embedded networks where they are able to rip off consumers who have no option to change suppliers. This is a disgrace for Victorian apartment owners and is something that must change.
Unfortunately had to use this company for electricity as it was the only choice for the apartment I was renting. Bills were extremely high, sometimes up to $196 per month, even though I lived alone and was at work 5 days per week. I was also told that as it was part of an “embedded network” they were unable to apply any concession to my account, even though my new energy provided is the same and does accept my concession card. I was also charged a $59 disconnection fee and received a further bill for $15 over a month after I moved out and had turned the main switch off before leaving the apartment. Definitely do some research as to whether this company is used as the energy supplier before signing any leases!
Active utilities wrongly disconnected the power in my apartment. At this moment, it has been 10hrs and after 7 phone calls, still no result. Its extremely unacceptable and inefficient! We're as occupants dont have no other choice of provider. Unbelievable! I'm totally freezing and getting a cold, and have to throw hundreds dollars worth of food in my fridge!
