I like the way all the modules in most of the courses are made to be self explanatory. The pairing of learners also helps in broadening the learners knowledge on the module or the milestone they're to complete. The company should make efforts to see that ALX shiuld not just be recognised in Africa only, but should also be recognised worldwide.
Great learning experience, a bit fast paced though; but it's a very helpful institution. It's also not expensive, that's something I liked about them. Took the Data Science stream, decided to stop after the Python certification. I had sales experience. I recently got a job with one of the biggest FMCG companies in SA as an Insights Analyst because of my ALX certifications

I’m proud to share a bit about my journey with ALX as a Software Engineering learner, specializing in Front-End Web Development.
My experience with ALX has been both challenging and transformative. It pushed me beyond my comfort zone and taught me the value of consistency, discipline, and problem-solving in real-world scenarios.
During the program, I gained strong skills in HTML, CSS, Tailwind CSS, JavaScript, and ReactJS. More importantly, I learned how to build responsive, user-friendly interfaces and think like a developer, not just write code, but solve problems.
The journey wasn’t always easy. There were moments of tight deadlines, complex projects, and debugging frustrations. But those challenges helped me grow stronger, more resilient, and more confident in my abilities.
ALX also exposed me to collaboration, self-learning, and the importance of building projects that reflect real-world needs. Today, I can confidently say that this experience has opened doors for me and strengthened my path in tech.
To anyone considering ALX: be ready to work hard, stay consistent, and trust the process, it’s worth it.
ALX didn't just give me a course; it gave me a second chance. I spent years thinking I was just an 'average' student I even failed my university exit exam and struggled through high school. My journey with ALX started on a Saturday in Lideta, rushing straight from another country via a 'Ride' to attend their LLM workshop because I refused to stay silent or be absent. That day, something clicked. I realized my past academic failures weren't my potential. I joined the AiCE program as a complete beginner and, despite my history with exams, I pushed myself to a 96% final score. ALX is the only platform that took a 'struggling' student and turned me into a high-performer. If you think you aren't 'smart enough' for tech, ALX will prove you wrong.
What can I say.
The journey of learning on Alx has a clear strategy and precise timelines .key deliverables are well communicated , learning is structured on well thought out industry principles and outcomes are measurable in every week of learning.Sometimes I will struggle but there are peers and platforms to help you.
My experience with ALX Africa in the Data Analytics track has been very impactful. The program provides a solid foundation in data analysis, with a strong focus on Python and its practical applications. I gained hands on experience working with tools like pandas, data visualization libraries, and real datasets, which helped me understand how to clean, analyze, and interpret data effectively.
What stood out most was the emphasis on real world problem solving. The projects were designed to simulate actual industry tasks, making it easier to build a portfolio and confidence as a data analyst. The structured learning approach, combined with peer collaboration, made the journey both challenging and rewarding.
The program is quite intensive and fast paced, so it requires commitment, consistency, and good time management. At times, more guided support or extended timelines could improve the experience for learners who are new to programming.
Overall, ALX Africa is doing an excellent job equipping learners with in demand data analytics and Python skills. I would highly recommend it to anyone serious about building a career in data analysis.
First of all ALX is an amazing foundation with great coursework that is relevant and in demand, it has made it easily accessible and exciting to be part of.
I have enjoyed being part of their cohorts and even when personal stuff got in the way of learning, there was support and that made me even more invested.
I am definitely looking into doing more courses with ALX and to be honest I wish more people especially the youth could be invested and part of this.
Alx is a great learning platform for students and people with no tech background who wants to venture onto tech. The course contents are released weekly and you have the whole week to learn at your own pace with once a week learning webinars. The interesting thing is that the webinars are recorded for your access if you are not able to attend the webinars or if you want to go through the webinar session at your own pace. You will also be rewarded with points as you learn which makes learning more fun with Alx. There is also big community of peer learners who acts as peer mentors and they were a great help to me. As a nursing student I will recommend Alx to anyone without a tech background who wants to venture into tech.
Great school, quality content and very practical.
However, you must allocate time to it because you can't juggle it with work or other commitments for best outcome (especially the more technical courses). It's a full-time school that you should allocate 40hrs a week no joke.
