Andrew is a great tutor! I have completed the AS course and will be doing A2 course. I found it incredibly beneficial that it is not just one 1h class per week but 1 content, 1 exam technique and an optional clinic session. He stands out from other tutors because of this and has boosted multiple students' grades. He has great useful mnemonics and tricks too!
I just finished the AS course, moving onto the A level, and it’s been such a wonderful and fun journey! Here’s why you should choose Andrew: The way Andrew teaches is incredible! He implements different strategies tailored to each topic in chemistry so it’s much easier and effective to revise. The way the course was structured, by having a day for content and the alternative day for going through past paper questions, is so useful as you can put the previously learnt topic in practice and be exposed to the many different ways exam boards can ask you questions in. We got given many exam techniques throughout the length of the course including useful mnemonics that you wouldn’t be taught in school. If a lesson was missed or not understood clearly we had a well organised portal with all the lessons and exam questions and had the opportunity to book a clinic if something was still unclear. Overall it was very beneficial!

My daughter Louisa took both of Andrew’s booster courses in the last year of her A-Level Chemistry – one for the AS Year 12 content and the other for the Year 13 content. Louisa was struggling in her final year Chemistry and was predicted a D grade but worse than that she was really beginning to hate Chemistry. Then along came Andrew with his booster courses and changed everything for Louisa. Not only did he make the lessons interesting and amusing, he used visual ways of remembering and understanding key concepts. If I said, David Bowie and leprechauns, you wouldn’t know what I was talking about but it worked ! Also his Organic Mindmaps, annotations of the periodic table and definitions lists made learning topics with loads of information manageable. Louisa could instantly tell you the reagents and conditions for all the organic synthesis questions. Amazing. Andrew was always available to answer questions whether that be through his regular clinics that enforced key knowledge or through WhatsApp, where he frequently replied and sent video solutions to tricky questions that Louisa was struggling with (Back Titrations were annoying but she can do them in her sleep now). Andrew’s Thursday night exam technique sessions are a perfect way to follow the Tuesday night content lessons in which he walks through question after question showing how to approach the problem and how to avoid common mistakes and pitfalls with reference to marking schemes and examiner comments. We don’t yet know Louisa’s result but it certainly won’t be a Grade D and we are hopeful of at least a 2 grade jumps and a lot of that credit, should it happen, will be down to Andrew. I thoroughly recommend his booster courses. Thank you Andrew !
Our daughter just finished her ALs. She did a 10 week revision course with Andrew that commenced early April 2025. It definitely made a huge difference on the way she approached the exam papers and her whole attitude on Chemistry. Keeping the fingers crossed for an excellent result. Can highly recommend him.
So pleased I took a leap of faith and trusted Andrew with tutoring my son throughout his Chemistry A Level course. I initially signed up for the AS content and saw the benefits and confidence it was instilling in my son and knew it was something he really appreciated alongside his college learning. A-levels are not for the faint-hearted and I knew it was important to have additional support in order to give my child the best chance in a competitive world. My son has already jumped up two grades and has used Andrew's content 'religiously' throughout his revision. He is sitting his first Chemistry paper as I write this review and I as a parent am confident I made the right decision in preparing him for this moment.Andrew has always been responsive, available and given the students practical, genuine support, ideas and 'tricks of the trade' to help them understand complex topics. This can only come through years of experience and knowing the syllabus and content 'like the back of your hand.' I myself have been teaching for 14+ years and can spot a highly competent teacher when I see one. To briefly explain how this course worked so well for us: - The FIRST lesson in a week explores the topic being revised (which is recorded and my son would play it back again to make detailed notes in his own time). - The students are then given exam practice questions on the topic to complete by the second lesson. (We printed these out to ensure the work gets done and had the mark scheme to help.)- During the SECOND lesson they go through the exam questions together.- The students then have the opportunity to book in to a THIRD session to discuss anything they still require further support with.The value for money is next to none, we were often at risk of missing lessons as there are three a week to keep up with!!A brilliant, honest tutor offering a well planned, expertly delivered course. Having completed the Chem grade booster course over the past 10 weeks I would definitely say that I’ve seen a vast improvement in my grades. Andrew made his lessons interactive and enjoyable, helping me understand and remember content in a much simpler manner than just memorising content. A lot of exam techniques were taught which has definitely helped me improve my understanding towards the subject. He was always there to answer any of my questions during clinic sessions. Having been through so many tutors, I am so glad I found the best tutor just before my exams!
