I have been with Amerigas for 12 years with some issues in the beginning but otherwise no problems….until this year. Twice I had delivery issues the second being this past week. I am running on fumes right now. I went out and bought a couple electric heaters to get through the storm because after receiving emails and speaking to customer service several times, my delivery never came. Their customer service is disconnected and unsympathetic. They could’ve cared less about the fact that I was going to run out of propane and there was a potential blizzard coming. I will be contacting them tomorrow to cancel my service and tell them I’ll let them know when they can pick up their tank. I don’t know what’s going on with this company, but it’s not good.
We have been Amerigas customers for 30+ years. At first we were very pleased with them. That was when you good deal with a local office. Since they moved their customer service to India, it's impossible to talk to anyone local. We are a total gas household and are on their plan that monitors tank level and delivers propane when needed. I check our level regularly. We got down to about 15% in our 330 gallon tank. My account page showed we would be getting a delivery between 1/28 and 2/2. Didn't happen so I started calling. Was always told that the truck was enroute to our house everyday. We ran out on 2/9. Everyday I called. On 2/12, I threatened them them with a lawsuit for breach of contract and elder abuse. A truck was in our driveway within an hour.
They charged over $400 to remove a propane tank that we never use... drove the truck through our front yard and damaged our concrete driveway... I’ve made 8 calls, sent emails with pictures, and no one has addressed the damages. The customer service is terrible... property damage with no accountability, and they are adding late fees to our account. I will never use or recommend this service...
Don't use Amerigas! They are an absolute zero as far as their customer service. I am supposed to be on autofill and they NEVER autofill until I call and notify them that I'm about to run out. Then they take a week or ten days to get a delivery scheduled. When you call you will be on hold for 15-30 minutes and then get transferred overseas and go through endless VRU loops before you actually speak to someone who then does nothing to rectify the situation. I have had their service for years and it has only gotten worse. Will be ditching them ASAP.
Service Dispatch Charge in the amount of $119.99 and the Tank Removal Fee in the amount of $299.99. These charges are to be applied upon the termination of my service with AmeriGas. These charges were not agreed upon and customer service states they can amend and change your contract as they please with no notification.
We’ve had this company for about six years unfortunately we did not know that their tank was leaking. That being said our bill was twice as much for many years. This is a tank that we are renting and paying them to maintain. They should be checking it every fill up and they never did. We were gone for several months and our bill was still extremely high so we called to ask why? they determined it was due to the leaking tank. We asked them for a discount and they refused. They do not maintain their tanks and charge you for a service not rendered. Now they want to charge us $400 to pick up a tank that has cost us thousands of dollars in losses. We have found another company and our new tank is brand new and looks beautiful. if you are reading this, I recommend you call Pacific Coast propane their prices are half as much tanks are beautifully maintained, and they give respectful service!
We have had a tank since 2009, not used much and during this time we pay rent on the tank, we decided we would not use AmeriGas and called them to pick up the tank and was told it would cost $450. To pick the tank up, we tried to buy the tank and they would not sale it! I told him paying that much for a tank that we didn’t have to pay to get was unfair, he told me that was what they charge and they would send the bill and I could deal with it and finance charges would be added to any unpaid balance. We did not get the tank from AmeriGas we got the tank from Greer Gas who sold to AmeriGas. This is not fair that they charge you a ridiculous amount when you no longer need service.
Crooks! Tanks are outdated! Propane overpriced! Don’t try to cancel they will deliver even if you canceled. Then when you say come pick your tank up we’ve done something else they will charge you $500 to pick the tank up. Absolutely craziness! How is this allowed!!
Driver did not follow directions of not driving on driveway. Instead he pulled into driveway and onto wet grass leaving 2 big tire tracks not once but twice. He then walked in the mud he created and across our sidewalk leaving muddy footprints so he knew he had done this. Then he backed around the driveway leaving muddy tracks. Once he delivered the 100 gallons getting air in the tank he left. Within 12 hours our hot water tank would not self ignite so we had no hot water which is the first thing the propane is used for. This has never happened in the 15 years we have had propane delivered. I called AmeriGas and filed two complaints and heard nothing back from them. I paid a plumber $100 to find out AmeriGas caused the hot water heater to shut down for 4 days .We had top soil put in the tire tracks and tried to wash the mud off sidewalk and driveway before our company arrived. No customer service from AmeriGas and have been waiting to hear from local delivery team. Do not use this poor service company that can’t follow directions and don’t return calls. This is lousy customer service and no support. I am owed a refund for this poor service.
