A bad experience

My car had a problem, kept cutting out. I rang them., they advised the nearest affiliated garage was 16 miles away. Took it to them, long and short they put diagnostics on, came back and told me there wasn't a problem, I paid £42 for that privilege! I went to pick it up, it broke down 4 times on way home, thank goodness I had someone with me. I ended up taking to garage that was local and I trusted as needed it fixed. It ended costing £200 plus. AA say they won't pay as I should have got garage to let them know what was wrong and they make a decision. This could take time and needed car for work and family, they don't seem to understand this.I bought the vehicle from quite far away from home, hence buying the warranty. We actually asked Salesman if we could take to any garage, he replied yes. I emailed garage, they are refusing to help pay, I only purchased car in July, I have also put an official complaint to AA, as did what they said and took it to garage they sent me to, they didn't find anything, when there was clearly a problem. If it was a problem that didn't mean the car kept cutting out it would be different, perhaps I could afford the time to 'visit' affiliated garages but this was becoming dangerous as stopped at any junction, roundabout, lights and hill starts. Has anyone been successful with a complaint to AA. Lots of complaints on here but no one has said what happened. I have received a letter from them this morning saying they are looking into it.

AA warranty it's just a scam

AA warranty it's just a scam. They will try to find a way in order to not help you ( fix/repair ) by any means. Waste of money !

Warranty not with the AA

This warranty has absolutely NOTHING in any way to do with the AA. The AA has outsourced their warranty insurance cover to an Organisation in Yorkshire. It's an insurance policy you buy, and not a warranty guarantee. Therefore all claims are subject to a great deal of scrutiny with the objective of refusing to pay out for your claim if possible. Mine cost me £250 for 12 months and I am dreading anything being wrong and having to claim. Had I been made aware that the AA were not associated with this scheme, I would not have bought the warranty. I have e-mailed the AA Chief executive asking for his observations. You can look up the Motorways direct on the companies checker on the internet and can see some very interesting facts about them.

Disappointment is an understatement

Disappointment is an understatement. Here I am, outside the HP (Harry Potter store) dressed in a full gown, willy in hand showing off my wand- doing my best patronus charm, children crying at the sight that this isn't a harry potter store but a store full of cumguzzlers

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

I have one year cover with AA , I have a problem with cruise control, I asked AA where to go the get the car fixed. They gave me the address of one of their recommended mechanics , I went there had the car diagnosed paid £55 , 4 weeks passed nobody contacted to let me know if AA will cover for the repairs , I sent an email explaining the situation, the answer they I got was that the mechanic where I went to was not recommend by AA. I'm just waiting for 6 weeks to pass then I will write to ombudsman.

Waste of time and money

I'd really like to see the statistics on how many claims they pay out for. Doesn't seem as though anything is covered. Avoid... complete waste of money. You'll end up paying for this and ALL repairs. There's a reason car dealers are commissioned on selling these warranties and it's not because the customer wins.
