Avoid this service at all costs!

This service is completely untrustworthy. They fail to reveal their hourly rates and administrative fees until after the technician is already in your home. The rates are outrageous, but that's just part of the problem. The contract they provide states that taxes are included in the hourly rates and admin charges (e.g., a 15% fee), but this is misleading. They also apply excessive markups on materials. The technician claimed the materials cost £30, which already seemed excessive for the small connector he installed, yet we were charged £53 for it. Additionally, we were billed an extra 20% on the hourly rate, call-out fee, and admin charge. To make matters worse, the calculations on the invoice were incorrect, resulting in us being overcharged, which we only realized after paying to let the technician leave. A mere 20 minutes of simple work ended up costing us over £500 during regular business hours. I use the term 'technician' loosely, as he was friendly but didn’t even bother to check our boiler after a leak and openly admitted to being self-taught, which included making significant errors in other homes. STEER CLEAR OF THIS SERVICE - they exploit individuals in urgent situations, lacking any integrity or communication skills, and they blatantly violate the agreement made prior to the job.

Extremely disappointing and misleading service.

I experienced a very disappointing and misleading service when I contacted a plumbing service after finding them at the top of a search engine for a blocked toilet. I was told over the phone that they were local, could arrive within an hour, and that the call-out fee was £49 including VAT, with pricing to be confirmed after inspection. The plumber did not arrive on time and was not local. Once on site, I was informed that the cost would be significantly higher, with around £250 quoted for what turned out to be a very simple task. I declined the service due to the unexpected price change, but after further discussion, I ended up paying £149 for the toilet to be unblocked using a plunger, which took about five minutes. My main concern is not the cost but the lack of clear and consistent information regarding pricing and expectations. Given my experience, I would not recommend this service and advise others to clarify all costs before agreeing to a visit.

Dishonest and overcharging

This service is a scam. I strongly advise avoiding them. They charged over £650 for what turned out to be simply turning off my water at the mains. They lied about the work done, pretended it took time, and falsely claimed I’d still have hot water from my tank (which I didn't). They even double-charged me for VAT initially. I had to call repeatedly for that refund and felt they were dodging my calls. I could have easily turned off the water myself but was misled into believing the issue required complicated work, leading to an exorbitant charge. There was also a lot of back-and-forth texting between the engineer and the service, which made me uneasy, as I wondered if they were coordinating ways to deceive me. A proper plumber confirmed days later that I had been misinformed about the severity of the problem and the work that had been done. I feel foolish for falling for the scam. While I expect to pay a higher rate for emergency calls, this was outrageous given all the deception.
