Review Time
I recently canceled my subscription, which I had taken out for my son, but he hardly used it. I was unaware that I was being charged £59.99 monthly due to a combination of factors, including my infrequent use of a certain card and not receiving statements. While I understand that the company’s payment practices are likely within their terms and conditions, I believe they should send monthly reminders, similar to other services I use. I requested a refund for half of the months since we last logged in, but their response was a polite refusal. My son hasn't utilized the service in over a year, leaving me with significant charges. I accept some responsibility, yet it feels like the company is profiting by not sending payment alerts until it becomes a legal requirement. I anticipate they will face many inquiries from inactive customers once the new regulations take effect. If they respond, there's no need to reiterate compliance with their terms—I’m already aware.
I am a huge supporter of this learning platform; I truly believe there's nothing better available for the 11 plus exams. I've utilized it twice to prepare two of my children for their grammar school assessments, and I've gained a lot from it as well. The additional live classes during the holidays are fantastic. I highly recommend this service; it's the best thing since sliced bread in my view.
Can someone explain why about one in ten homework answers are incorrect? I was trying to learn while completing my assignments, only to find mistakes like 'children is a singular noun' or 'hiker's refers to multiple hikers.' I’m shocked that those responsible for these answers don't understand concepts that even a child would grasp. Note: my experience was throughout 2022, and I didn’t have the option to specify.
The modules and weekly feedback provided are excellent. It would be ideal to have a complimentary end-of-month live feedback session with one of the tutors (preferably the same tutor for consistency) to discuss the child's progress, address challenges, and explore improvement strategies. This would give students a sense of mentorship and a chance to ask any questions.
I find it useful, and my daughter enjoys it as well. However, I’m disappointed that it claims to be tailored to the selected school but actually covers the entire KS2 curriculum. My daughter’s school only tests up to year 5, yet there’s no option to disable year 6 content. She is being assigned material that isn't necessary for her learning.
